''Remains to Be Seen'' is a 1953 crime musical comedy film directed by Don Weis and starring June Allyson, Van Johnson and Louis Calhern. It is based on the 1951 Broadway play ''Remains to Be Seen'' by Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsay. Plot A girl vocalist and her apartment manager get mixed up in a creepy Park Avenue murder and find themselves facing danger at every turn. Don Weis
Don Weis (May 13, 1922 – July 26, 2000) was an American film and television director. Biography Weis was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Emma (née Wiener; 1889–1971) and Meyer Weis (1886-1942). He graduated from the University of Southern California where he studied film. During World War II, Weis served in the Air Force as a film technician. After the war, he began working at MGM directing such films as ''Bannerline'' (1951), ''Just This Once'' (1952), ''You for Me'' (1952) and ''The Affairs of Dobie Gillis'' (1953). Frank Brandon Nelson (May 6, 1911 – September 12, 1986) was an American comedic actor best known for playing put-upon foils on radio and television, and especially for his "EEE-Yeeeeeeeeesssss?" catchphrase. Howard Freeman (December 9, 1899 – December 11, 1967) was an American actor of the early 20th century, and film and television actor of the 1940s through the 1960s. Biography Freeman was born in Helena, Montana, and began working as a stage actor in his 20s. Helene Millard (September 30, 1905 – September 20, 1974) was an American supporting actress of the 1930s and 1940s. Millard began acting on stage in Los Angeles when she was in the seventh grade. Millard left the Pasadena Players in July 1926 to go to Denver, where she had a one-year contract to perform with the Wilkes Stock Company. In 1928–29, Millard acted for six months with the Henry Duffy Players in the northwestern United States, after which she went to Los Angeles to co-star in ''The Hottentot''.
