''Reluctant Persuaders'' is a BBC Radio 4 sitcom, written by Edward Rowett. It stars Nigel Havers, Josie Lawrence, Mathew Baynton, Rasmus Hardiker, Olivia Nixon and Kieran Hodgson, and was produced by Absolutely Productions. It ran for four series, with a Christmas special, between September 2015 and April 2021. Plot ''Reluctant Persuaders'' follows Hardacre's, 'the worst advertising agency in London'. Nigel Allan Havers (born 6 November 1951) is an English actor. His film roles include Lord Andrew Lindsay in the 1981 British film ''Chariots of Fire'', which earned him a BAFTA nomination; as Dr. Rawlins in the 1987 Steven Spielberg war drama, ''Empire of the Sun''; and as Ronny in the 1984 David Lean epic ''A Passage to India''. Josie Lawrence (born Wendy Lawrence; 6 June 1959) is an English actress and comedian. She is best known for her work with the Comedy Store Players improvisational troupe, the television series ''Whose Line Is It Anyway?'' and as Manda Best in '' EastEnders''. Early life Lawrence was born Wendy Lawrence on 6 June 1959 in Old Hill, Staffordshire. Her parents were Bert Lawrence and Kathleen Lawrence, née Griffin, who were married in 1948. Mathew John Baynton (born 18 November 1980) is an English actor, writer, comedian, singer, and musician best known as a member of the British Horrible Histories troupe in which he starred in the TV series ''Horrible Histories''; as well as an actor in ''Yonderland'' and '' Ghosts''. Rasmus Hardiker (born 31 January 1985) is a British actor, best known for voicing Scott and Alan Tracy in the reboot animated television series '' Thunderbirds Are Go''. Kieran Hodgson
Kieran Hodgson is a British character comedian, actor, and writer. He is best known for his role as Gordon in Two Doors Down. Early life and education Kieran Hodgson was raised in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire and educated at Holmfirth High School before going onto Greenhead College in Huddersfield. He studied History and French at Balliol College, Oxford, graduating with a first-class degree. The BBC Audio Drama Awards is an awards ceremony created by BBC Radio to recognise excellence in the radio industry, in particular in audio dramas. The inaugural awards were presented in 2012 and the ceremony hosted at the BBC Radio Theatre, Broadcasting House where it has remained ever since. The awards were first announced with an invitation for entries on 24 October 2011, and the shortlisted nominees revealed on 10 January 2012.
