Reitz Memorial High School
Reitz Memorial High School or simply Memorial High School (MHS) is an inter-parochial Catholic high school on the east side of Evansville, Indiana. It sits on land bought with money donated by Francis Joseph Reitz in 1922 in memory of his parents, John Augustus and Gertrude Reitz. The school officially opened its doors on January 5, 1925. It is part of the Diocese of Evansville. History In 1922 Francis Joseph Reitz pledged one million dollars for the school to be built, for which he was presented with the insignia of Knight and Knight Commander of the Order of Pius IX. The original, main building was built three stories high of Ohio gray brick and elaborate trimmings of Indiana limestone with a Tudor-Gothic design. Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men's professional soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, which represents the sport's highest level in the United States. Scott Cannon
Scott Cannon (born July 22, 1968 in Evansville, Indiana) is an American former soccer player who played three seasons in Major League Soccer, two in the American Professional Soccer League, three in the National Professional Soccer League and at least four in the USISL and USL. He was the 1999 USL Defender of the Year and a two time USL All Star. High school and college Cannon grew up in Evansville, Indiana, attending Reitz Memorial High School where he won 3 State Championships and was a 1985 and 1986 NSCAA High School All-American soccer player. He then went on to attend University of Evansville, playing on the men’s soccer team from 1986 to 1990. Jeff Schulz
Jeffrey Alan Schulz (born June 2, 1961) is an American former Major League Baseball player. After playing baseball at the University of Southern Indiana, Schulz was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 23rd round of the 1983 draft. Schulz's first major league at bat came on September 2, 1989, as a pinch hitter against Nolan Ryan, baseball's all-time strikeout leader. Ryan had notched his five thousandth career strikeout one month earlier, and after the pitcher recorded two quick strikes on Schulz, he idly wondered what number he would be on Ryan's career total. Instead, however, he delivered a single for his first career hit. All in all, he appeared in seven games that year, collecting two hits and one RBI. Bob Hargrave
Robert Webb Hargrave (May 8, 1920 – July 28, 2014) was an American football player for the University of Notre Dame. As a quarterback for Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana, Hargrave led his team to a record of 32-0-5. At the University of Notre Dame, Hargrave became the starting quarterback for Elmer Layden's final season as head coach in 1940. He would post a 7-2 record and earn Honorable Mention All-American honors. After graduation, he spent four years serving in the United States Navy during World War II. On November 11, 1944, he married Florence Molyneaux in San Francisco, California. Following the war, the couple moved to Florence's home town of Chicago, Illinois, where their first two children were born. In 1948, Hargrave moved his family back to Evansville, where they had five additional children. Hargrave was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame on November 30, 1979. Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria – Claret, S.A.D., is a professional basketball club based in Las Palmas, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. Their home arena is the Gran Canaria Arena. The Baltimore Colts were a professional American football team that played in Baltimore from its founding in 1953 to 1984. The team now plays in Indianapolis, as the Indianapolis Colts. The Chicago Rockets were an American football team that played in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) from 1946 to 1949. During the 1949 season, the team was known as the Chicago Hornets. Unlike the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Colts, the franchise did not join the National Football League (NFL) prior to the 1950 season.
