Carl Reinecke
Carl Heinrich Carsten Reinecke (23 June 182410 March 1910) was a German composer, conductor, and pianist in the mid-Romantic era. Biography Reinecke was born in what is today the Hamburg district of Altona; technically he was born a Dane, as until 1864 the town was under Danish rule. He received all his musical instruction from his father, (Johann Peter) Rudolf Reinecke (22 November 179514 August 1883), a music teacher and writer on musical subjects. Carl first devoted himself to violin-playing, but later on turned his attention to the piano. He began to compose at the age of seven, and his first public appearance as a pianist was when he was twelve years old. At the age of 19, he undertook his first concert tour as a pianist in 1843, through Denmark and Sweden, after which he lived for a long time in Leipzig, where he studied under Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt; he entered into friendly relations with the former two. Howard Edwin "Ed" Reinecke (January 7, 1924 – December 24, 2016) was an American politician from California. He served three terms in the United States House of Representatives. He was the 39th state lieutenant governor from 1969 until his resignation in 1974 in connection with a Federal conviction for perjury. Early life and career Reinecke was born in Medford, Oregon and He graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1942. He served in the Navy during World War II as a radioman. Hermann Reinecke
Karl Rudolf Ernst Auguste Hermann Reinecke (14 February 1888 – 10 October 1973) generally known as Hermann Reinecke was a German general and war criminal during the Nazi era. As head of the General Office of the Armed Forces in the OKW (Supreme Command of the Wehrmacht) during World War II, he was a major contributor to the prisoner-of-war policy that resulted in the deaths of approx. 3.3 million Soviet prisoners. Reinecke was tried, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment at the High Command Trial. Military career Reinecke joined the German Imperial Army as a cadet in March 1905. He served throughout World War I during which he was awarded the Iron Cross first class and he was promoted to captain in 1916. He then continued his military service in the Reichswehr with the Army Office of Administration, an infantry regiment and the Reich Defence Ministry in Berlin. Paul Reinecke
Paul Heinrich Adalbert Reinecke (September 25, 1872 – May 12, 1958) was a German prehistorian and archaeologist. Life and work Reinecke was born in Berlin. He studied medicine and science under Rudolf Virchow. Interested in prehistory, he also attended classes with the anthropologist Johannes Ranke (1836–1916) and the archaeologist Adolf Furtwängler (1853–1907). During his studies, in 1893, Reinecke led an extensive study trip through Austria and Hungary. After graduating in 1897, he worked until 1908 at the Romano-Germanic Central Museum (Mainz), and later at the Bavarian State Office for Monument Protection (Die Kunstdenkmäler von Bayern). Until his death in 1958, he worked on almost all periods of European prehistory and early history, in particular on the chronology of the European Bronze Age and Iron Age. Reinecke's Salt
Reinecke's salt is a chemical compound with the formula NH4 r(NCS)4(NH3)2 H2O. The dark-red crystalline compound is soluble in boiling water, acetone, and ethanol. The chromium atom is surrounded by six nitrogen atoms in an octahedral geometry. The NH3 ligands are mutually ''trans'' and the Cr–NCS groups are linear. The salt crystallizes with one molecule of water. Structure It was first reported in 1863. Zudie Harris Reinecke
Zudie Harris Reinecke (May 31, 1870 - February 2, 1924) was an American composer and pianist. She studied music in Berlin and Vienna for sixteen years. and attained more popularity as a composer in Europe than in her home country. This was in part due to her songs being performed by Luli Lehmann and Scharwenka. As a pianist, she was a student of Theodor Leschetizky and Vladimir de Pachmann. She appeared as a concert pianist in Walter Damrosch's orchestra as well as for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Her father was Theodore Harris, founder of the Louisville National Banking Company, and had three sisters. She was married to William Reinecke, president of the Ohio Valley Electric Company.
