Regional Radio Sports Network
The Regional Radio Sports Network is a radio network that broadcasts high school and college sports in northern Indiana. History Regional Radio Sports first broadcast in 1992 on WWJY (now WXRD) in Crown Point, Indiana. In order to establish a footprint in the Michiana region, RRS soon joined forces with WAMJ in South Bend to create the first network. WAMJ was the first home for RRSN's coverage of Penn High School football, which now airs on affiliate WGCS. The network later added coverage of Bethel College basketball, baseball and softball to fill out the winter and spring. Since 2012, RRSN has partnered with the Indiana High School Athletic Association and Emmis Communications to produce the Indiana High School Sports Report that airs weekly around the state. WGL (1250 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station licensed to serve Fort Wayne, Indiana, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and owned by Brian R. Walsh. The station broadcasts an All-news radio, All-news format, branded as "WGL Newsradio 1250 and 105.5". The station is one of the oldest in the Fort Wayne, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area, Fort Wayne metropolitan area. National Sportscasters And Sportswriters Association
The National Sports Media Association (NSMA), formerly the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, is an organization of sports media members in the United States, and constitutes the American chapter of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). Winston-Salem, North Carolina now serves as the headquarters for the NSMA, which is responsible for the organizing and counting of all the ballots for the National, State (50 states plus D.C.), and Hall of Fame winners. The organization had been based in Salisbury, North Carolina until 2017. There are now more than 100 inductees in the Hall of Fame. The organization plans and funds the Annual Awards Program. Penn High School is a Public education, public high school located just outside Mishawaka, Indiana, United States, near South Bend, Indiana, South Bend. It is the only high school in the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation, Penn-Harris-Madison (PHM) School Corporation. WHLY
WHLY is a Regional Mexican radio station in South Bend, Indiana, broadcasting at 1580 on the AM dial. On May 1, 2013, WHLY adopted its current Regional Mexican format as La Raza 1580 AM. The station is currently owned by Ignacio Zepeda's I.B. Communications, Ltd., who also owns WKAM 1460 AM in Goshen, which is simulcast by WHLY. Crown Point is a city in and the county seat of Lake County, Indiana, United States. The population was 33,899 at the 2020 census. The city was incorporated in 1868.
