Reggie Pearman
Reginald James Pearman III (May 23, 1924 – June 11, 2012) was an American middle distance runner who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics. Born to Bermudian immigrants in Manhattan, he served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Following his athletic career, he also worked for the Peace Corps and United States Office of Education. He graduated from Newtown High School and New York University New York University (NYU) is a private research university in New York City. Chartered in 1831 by the New York State Legislature, NYU was founded by a group of New Yorkers led by then-Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin. Middle-distance running events are track races longer than sprints, up to 3000 metres. The standard middle distances are the 800 metres, 1500 metres and mile run, although the 3000 metres may also be classified as a middle-distance event.
