Regent Of Thousand Islands
The Regent of Thousand Islands, officially the Administrative Regent of Thousand Islands, is the highest office in the regency (Indonesia), regency of Thousand Islands (Indonesia), Thousand Islands. Unlike regents in other regencies in Indonesia, the regent is appointed directly by the governor. The regency has no regional parliament, thus making the regent responsible to the governor. Background Prior to the formation of the office, the Thousand Islands was a ''kecamatan'' (district) and was governed by a ''camat'' (head of district). The camat's office was located in the Pramuka Island. The Thousand Islands was previously under the administration of North Jakarta, North Jakarta City, making the ''camat'' responsible to the mayor of the city. On 31 August 1999, the President of Indonesia, B. J. Habibie, enacted the Law No. 34 of 1999, which upgraded the status of the Thousand Islands from a district to a regency. Junaedi
Junaedi (born 5 December 1966) is an Indonesian bureaucrat who serves as the Regent of Thousand Islands since 4 September 2020. Junaedi obtained a social studies degree from the Yapan Institute of Administration in 1992 and a master's of science degree from the Padjajaran University in 2005. After his graduation, Junaedi began working for the Jakarta city government. He became the city secretary of North Jakarta in 2015 and as the assistant to the deputy governor for environment in 2016. On 13 July 2017, Junaedi became as the Vice Mayor of North Jakarta North Jakarta ( id, Jakarta Utara; bew, Jakarte Belilir) is one of the five administrative cities (''kota administrasi'') which form Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Indonesia. North Jakarta is not self-governed and does not have a city counci ....
