Huntsville, Alabama
Huntsville is a city in Madison County, Limestone County, and Morgan County, Alabama, United States. It is the county seat of Madison County. Located in the Appalachian region of northern Alabama, Huntsville is the most populous city in the state. Huntsville was founded within the Mississippi Territory in 1805 and became an incorporated town in 1811. When Alabama was admitted as a state in 1819, Huntsville was designated for a year as the first capital, before that was moved to more central settlements. David Judah Simon (born February 9, 1960) is an American author, journalist, screenwriter, and producer best known for his work on ''The Wire'' (2002–08). He worked for ''The Baltimore Sun'' City Desk for twelve years (1982–95), wrote '' Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets'' (1991), and co-wrote '' The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood'' (1997) with Ed Burns. The former book was the basis for the NBC series '' Homicide: Life on the Street'' (1993–99), on which Simon served as a writer and producer. ''Pootie Tang'' is a 2001 American comedy film written and directed by Louis C.K. Adapted from a comedy sketch that first appeared on '' The Chris Rock Show'', the character Pootie Tang is a satire of the stereotyped action heroes who appeared in old blaxploitation films.
