Reformist Area
Reformist Area (''Area Riformista'', AR) was a social-democratic and democratic-socialist association, which used to be a faction within the Democratic Party (PD), a political party in Italy, before joining Article One. It was founded in April 2014 by a substantial number of supporters of Gianni Cuperlo in the 2013 leadership election, in which Cuperlo was defeated by Matteo Renzi. AR, which was mostly composed of ''Bersaniani'', ''Dalemiani'' and ''Lettiani'', found its leader in Roberto Speranza, the party's floor leader in the Chamber of Deputies. In April 2015 Speranza, who dissented from Renzi on electoral reform, resigned from his post. Roberto Speranza (born 4 January 1979) is an Italian politician of the Chamber of Deputies who served as national secretary of Article One. From 5 September 2019 until 22 October 2022, he has been serving as Minister of Health in the government of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and was later confirmed by Prime Minister Mario Draghi. Arturo Scotto (born 15 May 1978) is an Italian politician. Biography Graduated in Political Sciences, Scotto became a member of the Left Youth in 1994 and in 1996 he was elected Secretary of the Circle of Torre del Greco. Enrico Rossi (born 25 August 1958) is an Italian politician and former President of Tuscany. Early life He was born into a working-class family in 1958 and in 1982 he graduated with a Degree in Philosophy with a thesis on the Hungarian philosopher Ágnes Heller. Left is Change (''Sinistra è Cambiamento'', SèC) was a social-democratic faction within the Democratic Party (PD), a political party in Italy. Most of its members hailed from the Democrats of the Left (DS). The faction was formed, mainly by splinters of Remake Italy and Reformist Area, in June 2015. Remake Italy ( it, Rifare l'Italia), whose members were known as Young Turks (''Giovani Turchi''), was a social-democratic and, to some extent, democratic-socialist faction within the Democratic Party (PD), a political party in Italy.
