''Reel to Real'' is the seventh and final album by the American rock band Love, released in 1974. Background ''Reel to Real'' was the first official Love album in four years, and bandleader Arthur Lee recorded the album with studio musicians after dismissing all previous band members. It follows the release of Lee's solo album '' Vindicator'' in 1972 and two different Love albums that had been recorded but never released. ''Reel to Real'' featured the same musicians that played on the unreleased ''Black Beauty'' and was originally intended as part of a two-album deal with Robert Stigwood's RSO Records. A long-time admirer of Arthur Lee, Skip Taylor, approached the label and convinced Stigwood to give the previously commercially unsuccessful Lee the largest advance he would ever receive, followed by the biggest touring opportunity any incarnation of Love would ever embark on, opening for acts such as Lou Reed and Eric Clapton. ''Reel to Real'' is the fourth EP release by English alternative rock band Swervedriver. Produced and recorded by the band and Alan Moulder, it was promotionally released in 1991, through A&M Records. Background The promotional EP features the song "Sandblasted" which was released as a single and included on the EP of the same name. The EP also features a cover of The Velvet Underground song, "Jesus", written by Lou Reed and included on the band's self-titled 1969 album. Critical reception Andy Kellman of Allmusic described the Velvet Underground cover as "a decent, drums-heavy version" and referred to the acoustic-driven track "Hands," as "another dandy in Swervedriver's arsenal of 'on a motorbike in the middle of nowhere' epics." Reel 2 Real was an American hip house musical project that had seven top 10 hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the 1990s. Biography The project's core member was producer and DJ Erick Morillo from New York City, who spent a portion of his childhood living in Colombia and also in Union City, New Jersey. The first release as Reel 2 Real was " The New Anthem" which spent a week at No. 1 on the US Dance Chart in 1992. Although it peaked at No. 8 on the dance chart, Reel 2 Real is best known for the song "I Like to Move It", which featured Trinidadian toaster Mark Quashie, also known as The Mad Stuntman. The song peaked at number 89 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1994. It was successful in Germany where it peaked at number 3 on the singles chart, in the United Kingdom, where it peaked at number 5 and in France and the Netherlands it peaked at number one.
