Reed Brockway Bontecou
Reed Brockway Bontecou (April 22, 1824 – March 27, 1907) was an American surgeon, whose extensive photographic documentation of soldiers' wounds during the Civil War informed medical treatment, and were widely used to determine the degree of injury which determined of post-war pension payments. Bontecou was born in Troy, New York, the son of Peter and Samantha Brockway Bontecou, of French Huguenot and Scotch ancestry. He graduated B. S. Troy is a city in the U.S. state of New York and the county seat of Rensselaer County. The city is located on the western edge of Rensselaer County and on the eastern bank of the Hudson River.
