Redondo Peninsula
The Redondo Peninsula is a short mountainous peninsula extending about 15 kilometers (9 miles) to the south of Zambales on western Luzon in the Philippines. It separates Subic Bay and the coasts around the Subic Bay Metropolitan Area of Subic and Olongapo from the South China Sea. It is known for its secluded coves, beaches and pine-forested mountains. Geography The peninsula is administratively divided between two municipalities of Zambales: San Antonio (west) and Subic (east). Redondo () is a municipality in the District of Évora in Portugal. The population in 2016 was 6, 567, in an area of 369.51 km2. History The area of Redondo municipality contains an important megalithic cluster, including the Anta da Vidigueira, Anta da Candeeira and Anta de Colmeeiro dolmens, or neolithic burial chambers. In 1250, a foral (''charter'') attributed to King D. Afonso III was issued to Redondo. At the same time, the king ordered the construction of a castle over the ruins of the ancient Roman fortress. Later, the town was ruled by the Count of Redondo starting in the 1500s. Redondo Beach (Spanish for ''round'') is a coastal city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area. It is one of three adjacent beach cities along the southern portion of Santa Monica Bay. The population was 71,576 at the 2020 census, up from 66,748 at the 2010 census. Redondo Beach was originally part of the 1785 Rancho San Pedro Spanish land grant that later became the South Redondo area. Dolores Redondo Meira (born 1 February 1969) is a Spanish writer of noir novels, author of the ''Baztán Trilogy'', and winner of the 2016 Premio Planeta de Novela literary prize. Biography Dolores Redondo began studying for her law degree at the University of Deusto, though she did not complete it. She studied gastronomy in San Sebastián, worked in several restaurants, and had her own before devoting herself professionally to literature. She has lived in the ''comarca'' of in Cintruénigo since 2006. Redondo began writing literature with short stories and children's stories. Fernando Carlos Redondo Neri (; born 6 June 1969) is an Argentine retired footballer.
