Redland-Victoria Point Sharks Football Club (nicknamed The Sharks) is a Brisbane based sports club. The Australian rules football team competes in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) since 2021. They have previously been a part of both the AFL Queensland State League and the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL). Apart from football, Reland Sharks has cricket, netball, softball, and fishing sections. In 1970 the club changed its name to the "Victoria Point Redlands Australian Football Club". The Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL or "Q-A-F-L") is an Australian rules football competition organised by the AFL Queensland, contested by clubs from South East Queensland. Previously known as the Queensland Football League (QFL), Queensland Australian National Football League (QANFL), Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) and AFL Queensland State League (AFLQSL), the QAFL is the premier semi-professional competition in Queensland. Since its inception, more than fifty teams have played in the premiership competition. Charlie Dixon (born 23 September 1990) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Josh Thomas (born 1 October 1991) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Thomas, a Queensland Under 18 representative in the 2009 AFL National Under 18 Championships, was drafted by Collingwood with the 75th selection in the 2009 AFL Draft. In 2009, Thomas played 11 games for Gold Coast in the TAC Cup. Thomas was offered a contract by Gold Coast, but chose to enter the 2009 AFL draft, stating that he wanted to join an AFL environment as soon as possible, rather than wait for Gold Coast to join the AFL in 2011. Jake Spencer (born 9 October 1989) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Spencer, a ruckman, is the first person from Townsville to be drafted and play in the AFL. Early life Spencer moved to Townsville at age 18 years of age where he played basketball, becoming an under 18 player.
