Red Sticks (Central Asia)
The Red Sticks were paramilitary organisation in Central Asia, formed by the Soviets to combat the '' basmachi'' rebels. A paramilitary is an organization whose structure, tactics, training, subculture, and (often) function are similar to those of a professional military, but is not part of a country's official or legitimate armed forces. Central Asia
Central Asia, also known as Middle Asia, is a subregion, region of Asia that stretches from the Caspian Sea in the west to western China and Mongolia in the east, and from Afghanistan and Iran in the south to Russia in the north.
