Red Sands
''Red Sands'' is a 2009 American horror film directed by Alex Turner and written by Simon Barrett , in their second collaboration following '' Dead Birds''. The film stars Shane West, Leonard Roberts, Aldis Hodge, Theo Rossi, Callum Blue, Brendan Miller, Noel Gugliemi, and J.K. Simmons, and introduces Mercedes Masöhn. Plot In 2002, Jeff Keller, who mysteriously survived the slaughter of his troops during a mission, is debriefed by an officer. The facts gathered indicate that he and his soldiers had been ambushed by al-Qaeda fighters who killed them all, leaving Keller for dead. Two weeks before, in September 2002, Keller's crew gets a mission assignment and is set out to an isolated farmhouse where a family had been slaughtered days before. Alex Turner (director)
Alex Turner (born 1971) is an American film director, producer and screenwriter, best known for his work in the horror film genre, including the film '' Dead Birds''. Biography Turner was born and raised in New York City, New York. He made his first film with a home movie camera given to him by his father, photographer Pete Turner when he was nine years old on Super 8mm. After graduating from the film program at SUNY Purchase, Turner moved to Los Angeles and worked on commercials and as a production assistant on low budget horror films, such as Anthony Hickox's '' Warlock: The Armageddon''. Alex's short film ''Chuck'' screened in over thirty film festivals. It was featured on the Sci-Fi Channel, and won the Rod Serling award at the 2001 Long Island Film Festival. ''Djinns'' (also known by the title ''Stranded'') is a 2010 French horror film written and directed by Hugues Martin and Sandra Martin, set during the Algerian War in 1960. It stars Saïd Taghmaoui, Cyril Raffaelli and Aurélien Wiik. The film is about a group of French soldiers who are attacked during a rescue mission by a jinn. Plot Algeria, 1960. ''R-Point'' () is a 2004 South Korean psychological horror wartime film written and directed by Kong Su-chang. Set in Vietnam in 1972, during the Vietnam War, it stars Kam Woo-sung and Son Byong-ho as members of the South Korean Army in Vietnam. Most of the movie was shot in Cambodia. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang.
