Red Handkerchief
is a 1964 Japanese film directed by Toshio Masuda. Inspired by Yujiro Ishihara's hit song of the same title. Plot Mikami was deceived by his friend and colleague detective Ishizuka, but he didn't know the fact and was forced to quit the job, and left Yokohama. But one day he heard from a person that the reason he had to quit the job was by Ishizuka's deceiving. and he wanted to solve the riddle. Mikami returns to Yokohama again and knows that Ishizuka is now a businessman and was married to his former lover. Now Ishizuka tries to murder Mikami. Toshio Masuda (director)
is a Japanese film director. He developed a reputation as a consistent box office hit-maker. Over the course of five decades, 16 of his films made the yearly top ten lists at the Japanese box office—a second place record in the industry. Between 1958 and 1968 he directed 52 films for the Nikkatsu Company. He was their top director of action films and worked with the company's top stars, including Yujiro Ishihara with whom he made 25 films. After the breakdown of the studio system, he moved on to a succession of big-budget movies including the American-Japanese co-production ''Tora! Tora! Tora!'' Yūjirō Ishihara
was a Japanese actor and singer born in Kobe. His elder brother is Shintaro Ishihara, an author, politician, and the Governor of Tokyo between 1999 and 2012. Yujiro's film debut was the 1956 film ''Season of the Sun'', based on a novel written by his brother. He was beloved by many fans as a representative youth star in the films of postwar Japan and subsequently as a macho movie hero. Ruriko Asaoka
, born 2 July 1940 in Xinjing, Manchukuo (now Changchun, Jilin, China), is a Japanese actress. She won the Medal with Purple Ribbon (2002) and Order of the Rising Sun, 4th Class, Gold Rays with Rosette (2011). She married actor Koji Ishizaka in 1971 after appearing in the same TV drama. They separated in an amicable divorce in 2000 after a nearly 30-year marriage due to Ishizaka’s desire to care for his aging mother. Hideaki Nitani
was a Japanese actor. Career Born in Kyoto Prefecture, Nitani attended Doshisha University but quit before graduating. He first worked as an announcer at Nagasaki Broadcasting Company, but in 1956 made his debut as an actor at Nikkatsu. Gaining the nickname "Dump Truck Guy" for his handsome, tough guy roles, he soon became a staple in Nikkatsu Action movies, often playing the second lead, but sometimes starring in his own films. He is probably best known abroad for his role in Seijun Suzuki's ''Tokyo Drifter''. Nitani left Nikkatsu in 1971 and moved to television, where he starred in the ''Tokusō Saizensen'' police detective series, which ran for ten years between 1977 and 1987. Nitani married the actress Yumi Shirakawa and their daughter, Yurie Nitani, is also an actress. He died of pneumonia on 7 January 2012, three weeks before his 82nd birthday. was a Japanese actor. His wife was actress Yatsuko Tanami. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1950 and 1993. Career Kaneko was a versatile character actor, playing roles ranging from comedic buffoons to hardened yakuza bosses. Tamio Kawachi
was a Japanese actor. Career Kawachi was a student at Kanto Gakuin University when Yujiro Ishihara, one of his neighbors in Zushi, Kanagawa, invited him to join the Nikkatsu studio. He made his debut in ''A Slope in the Sun'' (1958) playing Ishihara's younger brother. The studio initially sold him as one of the "Bad Trio" along with Akira Kobayashi and Tadao Sawamoto. He appeared in films by Koreyoshi Kurahara and Seijun Suzuki and is probably most known abroad for his starring roles in Kurahara's ''The Warped Ones'' (1960) and '' Black Sun'' (1964). Kawachi eventually left Nikkatsu for the Toei Company, and co-starred in the 9-film ''Mamushi kyōdai'' series with Bunta Sugawara in the 1970s.
