Red Box (band)
Red Box are a British pop group founded by Simon Toulson-Clarke and Julian Close. Active from the early 1980s to the present day, they scored two UK top ten hits with the singles " Lean on Me (Ah-Li-Ayo)" in 1985 and "For America" in 1986, both of which were included on their debut album, '' The Circle & the Square''. Red Box returned briefly in 1990 with the single "Train" and second album ''Motive'' and again in 2010 with third album '' Plenty'' released in October 2010. The group is now led by singer-songwriter Simon Toulson-Clarke with a third line-up of supporting players. In February 2019, the band released "This Is What We Came For", the first single from their fourth studio album ''Chase the Setting Sun'', due for release in September 2019. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s. It was originally used as a catch-all for the various styles of music that emerged after punk rock, including punk itself. Later, critical consensus favored "new wave" as an umbrella term involving many popular music styles of the era, including power pop, synth-pop, ska revival, and more specific forms of punk rock that were less abrasive. It may also be viewed as a more accessible counterpart of post-punk. Matthew Fosh
Matthew Kailey Fosh (born 26 September 1957) is an English former first-class cricketer who played 30 games for Cambridge University, Combined Universities and Essex between 1976 and 1978. A left-handed batsman tipped for high honours in his youth, Fosh decided against taking up a career in the county game. Following his career in cricket, Fosh became a financier in the City. Early life and education Fosh is the son of Arthur Fosh, of Egg Hall, Epping, Essex, an Old Harrovian who also studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge and was owner of lithographic printing company Fosh & Cross, on Mansell Street, on the edge of the City of London. New York Dolls
New York Dolls were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. Along with the Velvet Underground and the Stooges, they were one of the first bands of the early punk rock scenes. Although the band never achieved much commercial success and their original line-up fell apart quickly, the band's first two albums—'' New York Dolls'' (1973) and '' Too Much Too Soon'' (1974)—became among the most popular cult records in rock. The line-up at this time consisted of, vocalist David Johansen, guitarist Johnny Thunders, bassist Arthur Kane, guitarist and pianist Sylvain Sylvain, and drummer Jerry Nolan; the latter two had replaced Rick Rivets and Billy Murcia, respectively, in 1972. Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. Marc Bolan
Marc Bolan ( ; born Mark Feld; 30 September 1947 – 16 September 1977) was an English guitarist, singer and songwriter. He was a pioneer of the glam rock movement in the early 1970s with his band T. Rex. Bolan was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of T. Rex. In the late 1960s, he rose to fame as the founder and leader of the psychedelic folk band Tyrannosaurus Rex, with whom he released four critically acclaimed albums and had one minor hit "Debora".
