Red Ballantyne

	Red Ballantyne William McCaw "Red" Ballantyne (15 November 1901 – 1944) was a Scottish association football Inside forward, inside right who played in Scotland, the United States, and Canada. Ballantyne played for both Greenock Morton F.C., Morton and Clyde F.C., Clyde, before jumping to the Boston Wonder Workers, Boston Soccer Club of the American Soccer League (1921-1933), American Soccer League in 1924. He was back in Scotland with Clyde a year later. After two seasons with Clyde, Ballantyne returned to the United States to sign with the New Bedford Whalers. In 1928, he began the season with the Whalers, but the onset of the soccer wars between the league and the United States Football Association brought considerable turmoil to the professional scene. The Whalers briefly left the ASL for the newly created outlaw league, the Eastern Soccer League. After a handful of games, it returned to the ASL. 	Johnny Ballantyne John Ballantyne (27 October 1899 – 1977) was a Scottish footballer who played professionally as an inside forward in Scotland, England and the United States. Born in Glasgow, Ballantyne began his senior career with Partick Thistle in 1921 after time in the junior leagues with Ashfield. In 1924, after signing a new one-season contract with Thistle including a signing bonus, he moved to the United States where he signed with the Boston Soccer Club of the American Soccer League. This nearly led to the suspension of the United States Football Association, an action prevented by stronger agreements between FIFA member associations on player transfer rules. Ballantyne spent four seasons with Boston before returning to Thistle in 1929.
