The Doctor is the title character in the long-running BBC science fiction television programme '' Doctor Who''. Since the show's inception in 1963, the character has been portrayed by thirteen lead actors. Sandra Birgitte Toksvig (; ; born 3 May 1958) is a Danish-British writer, comedian and broadcaster on British radio, stage and television. Peter Elliot Rae AO (born 24 September 1932, Launceston, Tasmania) is an Australian retired politician who represented the Liberal Party for the state of Tasmania in the Australian Senate. He served as a Senator from 1967 until his resignation in January 1986.
