Record News
Record News (formerly known as Rede Mulher) is the first 24-hour free-to-air terrestrial news channel in Brazil, and the third Brazilian news channel to be launched after GloboNews and BandNews TV. It is owned by RecordTV. History In 1953, TV Record started as the second Brazilian TV channel (the first was the extinct Rede Tupi). As the network celebrated its 54th anniversary, a new channel has been launched. This is the first Brazilian free-to-air and terrestrial news channel. The on air button was pushed at 8:15pm (Brasília time) by the then president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Edir Macedo, the network's owner. Through the Record Europa subsidiary, Record News is widely available across digital platforms in Portugal. It is mostly a simulcast of Record News in Brazil, with some local content. Terrestrial Television
Terrestrial television or over-the-air television (OTA) is a type of television broadcasting in which the signal transmission occurs via radio waves from the terrestrial (Earth-based) transmitter of a TV station to a TV receiver having an antenna. Florianópolis () is the capital and second largest city of the state of Santa Catarina, in the South region of Brazil. TV Record
RecordTV (), formerly known as Rede Record, is a Brazilian free-to-air television network. It is currently the second largest commercial TV station in Brazil, and the 28th largest in the 2012 world ranking. In 2010, it was elected by the advertising market as the fifth largest station in the world in revenues and the eighth largest network in physical structure. In June 2021, it ranked second among the most watched channels in the country in the National Television Panel, behind only TV Globo. As the main member of the media company Grupo Record, the network is headquartered in São Paulo, where most of its programming is also generated at the Dermeval Gonçalves Theater, and has a branch in Rio de Janeiro, where its telenovelas and other formats are produced at the Casablanca Estúdios (RecNov) complex. BandNews TV
BandNews TV is a Brazilian 24-hour television news channel, owned by Grupo Bandeirantes. It was the second news channel launched in the Brazilian cable/satellite market. The history of BandNews dated back to 19 March 2001, when it was launched by Grupo Bandeirantes. The first ever newscast aired at 11am that day. BandNews TV's programming was formatted around the idea (like 1982-2005 CNN Headline News) that a viewer could tune in at any time of day or night (instead of having to wait for the morning or evening news programs/round-ups on Record News and GloboNews channels), and receive up-to-date information on the top Brazilian and international stories in just 15 minutes. The initial investments from BAND for the channel were infrastructures, technical staffs and journalists, which cost them $6 million. GloboNews
GloboNews is a Brazilian news-based pay television channel, owned by Canais Globo, a division of Grupo Globo. The channel was relaunched on 18 October 2010 with a new logo and a new slogan "''Nunca desliga''!" (''Never turns off''!") and more in-depth coverage, especially during daytime. A high-definition simulcast was launched on 3 February 2013. Free-to-air (FTA) services are television (TV) and radio services broadcast in unencrypted form, allowing any person with the appropriate receiving equipment to receive the signal and view or listen to the content without requiring a subscription, other ongoing cost, or one-off fee (e.g., pay-per-view). Campo Grande (, ) is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the Center-West region of the country.
