Pier-Philippe Chevigny (born 1988) is a Canadian film director and screenwriter from Quebec,Martin Gignac"Portrait du TIFF: Pier-Philippe Chevigny" ''Voir'', September 6, 2019. most noted for his 2019 short film ''Rebel (Recrue)''. Originally from Contrecœur, Quebec, he is a graduate of the film school at the Université de Montréal. He made a number of short films before breaking through with ''Rebel'', which premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. The Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the major annual events taking place in Tirana each year. It was the first international cinema festival in Albania. This cultural event was created in 2003 and is currently the most important cinematic event in Albania. The Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film is an award presented at the annual Academy Awards ceremony. The award has existed, under various names, since 1957.
