Rebecca Gilling
Rebecca Gilling (born 3 November 1953 in Castlecrag, Sydney, Australia) is an Australian former model and actress, now environmentalist. Gilling is the daughter of World War II Navy personnel Douglas Gilling and prominent feminist campaigner Bridget Gilling. Career Her first acting role was in film ''Stone'' (1974) but she came to prominence in the ''Number 96'' feature film version in 1974, as the "bad girl" flight attendant Diana Moore even though she was not a member of the regular TV series cast. Her next acting role was in the action film ''The Man from Hong Kong'' (1975). Gilling went on to act in several television series. ''Our House'' is an Australian lifestyle and home renovation factual television series that aired on the Nine Network from 1993 until 2001. It was presented by musician and former Skyhooks (band), Skyhooks band member front man Graeme Strachan, Shirley Strachan, Reg Livermore, Rebecca Gilling, Tracey Dale (1993-1997), Suzie Wilks (1998-2000), Tara Dennis (2001) and Peter Harris. Strachan had previously fronted a children's TV program, ''Shirl's Neighbourhood''. On 29 August 2001, Strachan died in a helicopter accident. The final episode of ''Our House'', a Christmas-themed special, paid tribute to Strachan. In late 2001, Nine announced on their corporate site that they were planning to develop new episodes of ''Our House'' for broadcast in 2002. ''Watch This Space'' is an Australian children's science fiction television series which ran on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from 7 April to 13 June 1982. The show starred Paul Chubb, in his first leading role on a television series, as a red-skinned alien named Rufus who arrives on Earth and attempts to break into show business. The alien is helped by a local man, played by co-star Ron Blanchard, who attempts to help him fit in including helping disguise his spaceship as a normal home and later moved in with him as a roommate. Being largely unaware of Earth culture, the alien would regularly become involved in comical social situations. This was most often at his human friend's expense who, while receiving weekly visitors, continually tries to explain away his odd behaviour and the existence of his talking shipboard computer. Series synopsis Like preceding Crawford's series, the aborted '' Hotel Story'', ''Holiday Island'' was a ''Love Boat''-style drama series set in a luxury hotel. This time the location was a tropical resort island in Queensland. In each episode the regular characters - the various islanders and hotel workers - hosted a new batch of guest star hotel guests. Various plots and situations on the show included a fierce cyclone hitting the island, children being kidnapped, a siege where the hotel workers were held hostage by less than pleasant guests, drug trafficking, the resort being terrorised by a biker gang and a politician dying of a heart attack while staying at the island's resort.
