Rebecca Chase Williams
Rebecca Chase Williams was a journalist and mayor of Brookhaven, Georgia. Previously a District 1 City Councilwoman, Williams became mayor after the city's inaugural mayor, J. Max Davis, resigned in May 2015. Prior to her public service, Williams was a distinguished ABC News journalist for more than twenty years. Mayor Williams is the wife of Dick Williams, editor and publisher of ''The Dunwoody Crier'', a weekly newspaper covering Dunwoody, Brookhaven, and Sandy Springs. Williams hosted the weekly Atlanta television program, ''The Georgia Gang The Georgia Gang is a long-running public affair program broadcast in Atlanta, Georgia. Dick Williams served as the host of the show for many years. The show features two panelists from the left and two from the right. Panelists have included Tharo ...'' for decades. Brookhaven is a city in the northeastern suburbs of Atlanta that is located in western DeKalb County, Georgia, DeKalb County, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States, directly northeast of Atlanta. Dunwoody is a city located in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. As a northern suburb of Atlanta, Dunwoody is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. It was incorporated as a city on December 1, 2008 but its area establishment dates back to the early 1830s. As of 2019, the city has a population of 49,356, up from 46,267 in the 2010 census. Sandy Springs is a city in northern Fulton County, Georgia and an inner ring suburb of Atlanta. The city's population was 108,080 at the 2020 census, making it Georgia's seventh-largest city.
