''Real People'' is an American reality television series that originally aired on NBC from 1979 to 1984, Wednesdays from 8 pm to 9pm Eastern Time. Its initial episodes aired live in the Eastern and Central time zones. ''Real People'' featured "real people" (as opposed to celebrities) with unique occupations or hobbies. Synopsis ''Real People'' featured a panel of seated hosts in front of a large studio audience. The hosts introduced pre-filmed segments and engaged in comedic banter about them. Each segment was a visit to someone with a unique occupation or hobby. Occasionally, someone was brought into the studio to interact with the audience. Reality television is a genre of television programming that documents purportedly unscripted real-life situations, often starring unfamiliar people rather than professional actors. That's My Line
''That's My Line'' is a summer CBS reality show developed by Mark Goodson. Conceived in response to the success of NBC's ''Real People'' and ABC's ''That's Incredible!'', ''That's My Line'' borrowed its name from one of Goodson and Bill Todman's earlier productions, the panel game ''What's My Line?'', and shared its central conceit of highlighting average people with unusual occupations. Unlike the earlier show, ''That's My Line'' had no panel or game components, instead being centered around interviews and demonstrations. The series ran as a summer replacement series for two abbreviated seasons in 1980 and 1981. It was hosted by Bob Barker and announced by Johnny Olson, both associated with Goodson-Todman's hit game show, ''The Price Is Right'' (Olson had also been the ''What's My Line?'' announcer for many years). The Dukes Of Hazzard
''The Dukes of Hazzard'' is an American action comedy TV series that was aired on CBS from January 26, 1979 to February 8, 1985. The show aired for 147 episodes spanning seven seasons. It was consistently among the top-rated television series in the late 1970s (at one point, ranking second only to ''Dallas'', which immediately followed the show on CBS's Friday night schedule). The show is about two young male cousins, Bo and Luke Duke, who live in rural Georgia and are on probation for moonshine-running. ''House Calls'' is an American sitcom that lasted three seasons and 57 episodes, from December 17, 1979 to September 6, 1982, on CBS television, produced by Universal Television and based upon the 1978 feature film of the same name. Synopsis British-born Ann Atkinson (Lynn Redgrave), as hospital administrator, had three unruly doctors to cope with, and the comedy arose from their interactions. Dr. Charley Michaels (Wayne Rogers) became the main problem for her, because of the romantic angle. She always pulled herself up short just before falling hopelessly in love with him. Marjoe Gortner
Hugh Marjoe Ross Gortner (born January 14, 1944) is a former Evangelism, evangelist preacher and actor. He first gained public attention during the late 1940s when his parents arranged for him to be Ordination, ordained as a preacher at age four, due to his extraordinary speaking ability. He was the youngest known in that position. As a young man, he preached on the revival meeting, revival circuit and brought celebrity to the revival movement. He became a celebrity again during the 1970s when he starred in ''Marjoe'' (1972), a behind-the-scenes documentary about the lucrative business of Pentecostalism, Pentecostal preaching, which won the 1972 Academy Award for Best Documentary Film. That documentary now is noted as one of the most vehement criticisms of Pentecostal preaching. Vic Cianca
Victor S. Cianca Sr. (January 5, 1918 – January 24, 2010) was a traffic police officer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Police Bureau before he retired on January 4, 1983. His flamboyant style of directing traffic led to appearances on the television program ''Candid Camera'' in 1964, and Allen Funt was so impressed he invited Cianca to direct traffic in New York City's Times Square. He also appeared on Charles Kuralt's CBS News documentaries, ''The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'' and ''Real People''. He also guest conducted the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in 1981. He later appeared in Budweiser commercials and was featured in the movie ''Flashdance'', playing himself.
