Reagan Democrats
A Reagan Democrat is a traditionally Democratic voter in the Northern United States, referring to working class residents who supported Republican presidential candidates Ronald Reagan in the 1980 or the 1984 presidential elections, or George H. W. Bush during the 1988 presidential election. The term Reagan Democrat remains part of the lexicon in American political jargon because of Reagan's continued widespread popularity among a large segment of the electorate. Stanley Bernard Greenberg (born May 10, 1945) is an American pollster and political strategist affiliated with the Democratic Party. Greenberg is a founding partner of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research (GQR) and Democracy Corps, political consulting and research firms headquartered in Washington, D.C. Described as a "pollster supremo", Greenberg is known to have played a crucial role in the elections of Bill Clinton as President of the United States and Tony Blair as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The 1960 United States presidential election was the 44th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 8, 1960.
