Re-Wind
''Re-Wind'' is a remix double album by Vancouver industrial band Front Line Assembly, released in 1998. All tracks were originally recorded for the band's previous studio album '' LAour of the Weak'' (some as b-sides). The band's longtime mixer, Greg Reely, had been absent on the original album and was brought back in on ''Re-Wind''; therefore, disc one sees the band remixing itself with Reely's help. Disc two presents remixes by other artists. Release The track "Predator (Final Mix by Collide)" is featured on the soundtrack album from 2006 thriller '' The Covenant''. According to Collide, the original name of the remix is "Radioactive Mix". On account of an oversight at the label the name "Final Mix" appeared on the CD. In 2016, Canadian label Artoffact reissued the album on vinyl. Front Line Assembly
Front Line Assembly (FLA) is a Canadian electro-industrial band formed by Bill Leeb in 1986 after leaving Skinny Puppy. FLA has developed its own sound incorporating elements of electronic body music and electro-industrial. The band's membership has rotated through the years, including Michael Balch, Rhys Fulber, and Chris Peterson, all of whom are associated with several other acts. Since their inception, the group have produced over a dozen studio albums and EPs, several of which have charted on '' Billboards Top Dance/Electronic Album chart. The albums '' Tactical Neural Implant'' and '' Hard Wired'' are two of the group's most successful records, the former being considered a classic among industrial music fans. '' LAour of the Weak'' is the ninth full-length studio album by industrial music group Front Line Assembly, released in November 1997 by Off Beat. Background '' LAour of the Weak'' is the first album of the band to feature Chris Peterson. Peterson had already toured with Front Line Assembly for ''Caustic Grip'' and '' Tactical Neural Implant'' but had never been part of the creative process. He also had teamed up with Rhys Fulber in the band Will before Fulber became official member of Front Line Assembly. After Fulber's departure, band leader Bill Leeb asked Peterson to join Front Line Assembly. Musical style The style is somewhat of a departure from previous releases in the FLA catalog, with the group's beat-heavy signature beginning to take heavy cues from styles such as IDM and breakbeat. Cryogenic Studios
''Cryogenic Studios'' is a compilation album that contains songs from several of Canadian electronic musician Bill Leeb's projects including Front Line Assembly, Equinox, Delerium, Pro>Tech, and Synæsthesia. It was released by Cleopatra in 1998. The album title refers to the name of ''Cryogenic Studio'' in Vancouver that serves as headquarters studio for Front Line Assembly and related side projects. The Zoth Ommog release for the European market came with a different artwork. All tracks except for "Infra Stellar (Remix)" were re-released in 2005 by Cleopatra on the compilation album ''The Best of Cryogenic Studio''. Fini Tribe
Finitribe were a Scottish electronic music group. The group was originally referred to as Fini Tribe. The name was taken from ''finny tribe'', a term used by the Rosicrucians to describe the fishes. History The band formed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1984, by Chris Connelly (musician), Chris Connelly, John Vick, Andy McGregor, Philip Pinsky, David Miller and Simon McGlynn. Eat Static
Eat Static is an electronic music project from Frome, Somerset, England formed in 1989 by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton. Hinton left the group in February 2008 after 18 years to spend more time with his family. History Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton met as drummer and keyboard player (respectively) for Ozric Tentacles, a long-standing psychedelic rock band from Somerset. Although Ozric Tentacles incorporated elements of electronic music, Pepler and Hinton were drawn towards the rave-oriented dance music. In 1988 they collaborated on a project under the name of Wooden Baby which hinted at early rave and acid house sounds as well as numerous other styles, and by 1990, the project had evolved into Eat Static. Front 242
Front 242 is a Belgian electronic music group that came into prominence during the 1980s. Pioneering the style they called electronic body music, they are a profound influence on the electronic and industrial music genres. History Formation Front 242 were formed in 1981 in Aarschot, near Leuven, Belgium, by Daniel Bressanutti and Dirk Bergen, who wanted to create music and graphic design using emerging electronic tools. Prior to forming Front 242, Bressanutti worked on a music project called Prothese that had already produced several one-off tracks. The ''front'' part of the name comes from the idea of an organized popular uprising and the fact that the word can be translated in many languages while retaining the same meaning.
