''Re-Mit'' is the 29th studio album by the English post-punk group, The Fall. It was released on 13 May 2013 via Cherry Red Records. The album features Mark E. Smith (lead vocals), Peter Greenway (lead guitar), Keiron Melling (drums), Elena Poulou (keyboards, vocals) and David Spurr (bass), and marks the first time in the history of the Fall that the group have released four consecutive studio albums recorded with the same line-up. Release The album was announced in the early 2013. The album track list was revealed on 11 April 2013. The first single from the album, "Sir William Wray", was released on 20 April for the 2013 Record Store Day. The single contains the alternative versions of the album tracks "Sir William Wray" and "Hittite Man," and was limited to 1500 copies. "Victrola Time" was recorded at the ''Ersatz GB'' sessions in 2011 and later overdubbed for the 7" single "Night of the Humerons", where it featured as the lead track. The Fall (band)
The Fall were an English post-punk group, formed in 1976 in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. They underwent many line-up changes, with vocalist and founder Mark E. Smith as the only constant member. The Fall's long-term musicians included drummers Paul Hanley, Simon Wolstencroft and Karl Burns; guitarists Marc Riley, Craig Scanlon and Brix Smith; and bassist Steve Hanley, whose melodic, circular bass lines are widely credited with shaping the band's sound from early 1980s albums such as ''Hex Enduction Hour'' to the late 1990s. First associated with the late 1970s punk movement, the Fall's music underwent numerous stylistic changes, often concurrently with changes in the group's lineup. Ersatz GB
''Ersatz GB'' is the 28th studio album by the post-punk band the Fall, released on Cherry Red Records 14 November 2011. It is the Fall's first album on Cherry Red. The album marks the first time in the history of the Fall that the group have released three consecutive studio albums recorded with the same line-up. Recording Initially an album's worth of material was recorded in Berlin just previous to recording ''Ersatz GB'', according to guitarist Pete Greenway. Along with bassist David Spurr and drummer Keiron Melling, Greenway was sent to Berlin by singer Mark E. Smith to check out a studio. "We recorded 10 tracks in 2 days and they all sounded magnificent to our ears," Greenway said. "Mark told us later that he only wanted us to report back about how good the studio was, maybe use it at some point. He wasn't interested in the recordings and never listened to them." The Remainderer
''The Remainderer'' is an EP by the Fall, released on 9 November 2013. It features five new songs by the group and a medley of two Gene Vincent covers, "Say Mama" and "Race With the Devil". The title track was previously played live. Curiously, "Race with the Devil" is not a new recording, but a live performance recorded at the John Peel 50th-anniversary concert back in 1989 with the ''Extricate'' lineup; this recording had previously appeared on ''The Fall Red Box Set 1976-2007''. The last song, "Touchy Pad" features Tamsin Middleton of Manchester band Mr Heart on vocals. The release was explained as a bridging point by the record company. The vinyl version features earlier mixes that differ from the CD. The release was followed by a number of live-shows. Grant Showbiz (real name Grant Cunliffe) is a British record producer principally known for his work with The Fall, The Smiths, and Billy Bragg plus as an artist in his own right with Moodswings. He has worked on more albums by both The Fall (15) & Billy Bragg (14) than any other producer, and continues to work with Bragg. Showbiz has been awarded Gold Records for The Smiths' ''Rank'', Billy Bragg's '' Don't Try This At Home'' and The Wilco/Bragg collaboration '' Mermaid Vol.1'', and received Grammy nominations for both Mermaid Avenue Vols 1 & 2. Career Showbiz started as a soundman for anarcho-hippypunks Here & Now in 1976. Showbiz ran the sound and stage at many free festivals such as Windsor and Stonehenge. Anthony Frost
Anthony Frost (born 1951) is a British painter noted for his abstract works consisting of brightly coloured prints and collages. Biography Frost was born in St. Ives, Cornwall, the son of Sir Terry Frost. From 1970 to 1973 he studied at the Cardiff College of Art gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. His work featured in the "Art Now Cornwall" exhibition at Tate St Ives in 2007. He has been Artist-in-residence at the Cyprus College of Art, Paphos and the Montmiral School of Painting, France. Frost is a fan of The Fall and his work appears on a number of their record covers, most notably ''Extricate''. The painter's works are included in the public art collections of the Kasser Mochary Foundation, New York and King's College, Cambridge. Tim Presley
Tim Presley is an American musician, singer and songwriter. Presley began his career playing with the hardcore punk bands Model American and The Nerve Agents. In 2004, Presley founded the psychedelic rock band Darker My Love. In 2006 he joined The Fall, playing on the LP '' Reformation Post TLC'', and was an occasional guest musician on the band's later albums. Since 2010, Presley has released music under the name White Fence. As of January 2019, he has released seven studio albums, two live albums, and two collaborative albums with Ty Segall under that name, as well as two albums with Cate Le Bon under the name DRINKS, an experimental solo album under the name W-X, and a solo album, ''THE WiNK,'' under his own name.
