Raúl Ríos
Raúl Andrés Ríos de Choudens (born 3 December 1993 in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), is a world class sailor in the Optimist, Snipe, and Lightning classes. He began sailing Optimists at the age of ten at the Club Náutico de San Juan, and became North American champion and World champion in 2008. From the Optimist class, he moved into the 420, Snipe and Lightning classes. He started sailing in the Snipe Class by crewing for Ernesto Rodriguez just after summer of 2008, training for the Western Hemisphere's championship in Uruguay that November where they finished third overall. He then took the skipper position, with Fernando Monllor from the Club Náutico de Ponce as a crew, competing in the US Nationals, the North Americans, the Western Hemisphere and Oriental Championship, the Pan American Games and the Central American and Caribbean Games. Guaynabo, Puerto Rico
Guaynabo (, ) is a city, suburb of San Juan and municipality in the northern part of Puerto Rico, located in the northern coast of the island, north of Aguas Buenas, south of Cataño, east of Bayamón, and west of San Juan. Max Agnese
Maximiliano Agnese, known as Mac Agnese (born April 26, 1994, in Fort Lauderdale), is a world class sailor in the Melges 24, SL16, 29er and Snipe classes. He started sailing Optimist at age five, and won his first world championship by age 11 in the Melges 24 class. At the Youth Sailing World Championships, he won the bronze medal in the SL16 class in 2010 and the silver medal in the 29er class in 2011. In 2017 he crewed for Raúl Ríos winning the Snipe Worlds. He attended Fort Lauderdale High School before joining the Boston College sailing team, where he was the 2011-12 team captain. He was a member of the United States Team competing at the 2019 SailGP together with Rome Kirby, Riley Gibbs, Hans Henken and Dan Morris. Snipe South American Championship
The Snipe South American Championship is the annual South American Championships, South American Championship for Sailing (sport), sailing in the Snipe (dinghy), Snipe class. The regatta is open to Snipe Class International Racing Association (SCIRA) registered boats and class member skippers and crews. The trophy is a donation of SCIRA Paraguay, and 3 races constitute a regatta with nine or eleven races scheduled, depending on local conditions. Snipe Western Hemisphere & Orient Championship
The Snipe Western Hemisphere and Asia Championship is an international sailing regatta in the Snipe class. The fleet of winning skipper is awarded the Hayward Western Hemisphere Trophy, donated by Commodore John T. Hayward, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. 3 races shall constitute a regatta. United States Snipe National Championship
The United States National Snipe Championship is the annual national championship for sailing in the Snipe class. It is among the oldest One-Design class championships in the United States. Between 1934 and 1947 it was considered the SCIRA World Championship, with the winning skipper receiving the Commodore Hub E. Isaacks Trophy, but as the event became international after World War II, SCIRA's commodore Charles Heinzerling created a separate trophy for the USA champion and since then the winning skipper is awarded the ''Commodore Charles E. Heinzerling Trophy'', and the winning crew is awarded the ''Portage Lakes Yacht Club Trophy''. When the fleet is large enough, the Snipe Nationals are held in two parts. The Club Náutico de Ponce (''Ponce Yacht and Fishing Club'') is a yacht club in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The club is located contiguously on Isla de Gatas, near the La Guancha recreational and cultural area, and next to the Port of Ponce. The complex consists of two restaurants, a private beach, a gym, a running track, two pools, various basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, and a marina. The International 420 Dinghy is a sailing dinghy popular for racing and teaching. The hull is fiberglass with internal buoyancy tanks. The 420 has a bermuda rig and an optional spinnaker and trapeze. It has a large sail-area-to-weight ratio, and is designed to plane easily. It can be rigged to be sailed single-handed or double-handed. The 420 is an International class recognized by World Sailing.
