Raúl Rodríguez (footballer)
Raúl Rodríguez Navarro (; born 22 September 1987) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a central defender. He played 92 matches for Espanyol, and subsequently competed in the United States, China and Kuwait. Club career Espanyol Born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Rodríguez made his professional debut with UDA Gramenet, going on to play three full Segunda División B seasons with the team. In summer 2010 he signed for neighbouring RCD Espanyol, being initially assigned to their reserves. After Víctor Ruiz was sold in the 2011 January transfer window, and Juan Forlín suffered a serious injury, Rodríguez was propelled to the first team by manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Catalonia national football team ( ca, Selecció de futbol de Catalunya) is the official football team of Catalonia. It is organised by the Catalan Football Federation, founded in 1900. Juan Daniel Forlín (born 10 January 1988) is an Argentine former professional footballer. Mainly a central defender, he could also play as a defensive midfielder. He started out at Boca Juniors, then spent four years in La Liga with Espanyol, appearing in 118 official matches and scoring two goals. Sergio González Soriano (born 10 November 1976), known simply as Sergio, is a Spanish football manager and former player. He is the manager of Cádiz and the Catalonia national team. A hard-working central midfielder, he was adept at both defence and playmaking, and spent nearly one decade as a professional at Deportivo de La Coruña after starting at Espanyol. 2010–11 La Liga
The 2010–11 La Liga season (known as the ''Liga BBVA'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 80th since its establishment. The campaign began on 28 August 2010 and ended on 21 May 2011. A total of 20 teams contested the league, 17 of which already contested in the 2009–10 season and three of which were promoted from the Segunda División. In addition, a new match ball – the Nike Total 90 Tracer – served as the official ball for all matches. Defending champions Barcelona secured their third-consecutive and 21st La Liga title after a 1–1 tie with Levante on 11 May 2011. Born and raised in Argentina, Osvaldo represented the Italy national team internationally. Substitute (association Football)
In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
