Ray Sorrell
Ray George Sorrell (born 1 January 1938) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with East Fremantle and South Fremantle in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL). A centreman, Sorrell achieved many accolades during his time at East Fremantle. He was a dual Sandover Medal winner, finishing equal first with Neville Beard in 1961 and then winning the award outright in 1963. The 1961 medal was given to Beard on countback but Sorrell was awarded it retrospectively in the 1990s when the league decided to reward those who had lost in a similar fashion. He was also a dual Simpson Medalist, winning both in 1962, one for being best on ground in the Grand Final that year and the other for performance against Tasmania in their interstate match. In total he represented the West Australians at interstate football on 18 occasions during his career and was named in two All-Australian teams, in 1958 and 1961. East Fremantle Football Club
The East Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Sharks, is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The team's home ground is East Fremantle Oval. East Fremantle are the most successful club in WAFL history, winning 29 premierships since their entry into the competition in 1898. History The East Fremantle Football Club was formed in 1898 and up to the end of the 2022 season the club has won 29 league premierships in the West Australian Football League. Making the club one of the most successful AFL football clubs in Australia. Harrison Marsh
Harrison Marsh (born 13 January 1994) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the Sydney Swans with their second selection and forty-fourth overall in the 2012 national draft. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 2015 season without playing an AFL match, he was however, re-drafted by Sydney as a rookie with the thirty-second pick in the 2016 rookie draft. He made his debut in the twenty-six point win against in round 10, 2016 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Early life Marsh is originally from Margaret River, Western Australia, 277 km south of Perth. Jonathon Marsh
Jonathon Marsh (born 17 October 1995) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for East Fremantle in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He previously played for Collingwood from 2014 to 2016 and St Kilda from 2019 to 2020 in the Australian Football League (AFL). Marsh played his junior football with the Augusta-Margaret River Hawks, often with older brother Harry, of the Sydney Swans, and he went to school in Margaret River and Busselton. He was recruited by the club with the 77th selection in the 2013 AFL draft. Marsh was a late pick, drafted for his attack on the ball and defensive attributes. He made his debut in round 19, 2015 against Carlton. In November 2016, he announced his retirement from AFL football to return to his home state of Western Australia. West Australian Football Hall Of Fame
The West Australian Football Hall of Fame was created in 2002 to recognise and enshrine those who have made a significant contribution to Australian rules football in Western Australia. People eligible for inclusion are players, coaches, umpires, administrators and media representatives. The inductees are chosen under guidelines which have been established by the West Australian Football Commission and in 2003 a Hall of Fame Selection Committee was made.
