	Ray Scott (angler) Ray Scott (1933 – May 8, 2022) was an American outdoorsman who founded the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) in 1967 after a vision of "building the sport of bass fishing to its rightful place in the first rank of American sports." As the "godfather" of modern bass fishing, he created the first national bass tournament trail (the Bassmaster Tournament Trail), ''Bassmaster Magazine'', ''The Bassmasters'' television show and the BASS Federation. He was also well known for his contributions to conservation and boating safety. He died of natural causes on May 8, 2022. 	Ray Scott (sportscaster) Ray Eugene Scott (June 17, 1919 – March 23, 1998) was an American sportscaster, best known for his broadcasts for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. His brother Hal Scott was also a sportscaster. Early life and career A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Scott began his broadcasting career on local radio in the late 1930s. (Fellow announcer Bill McColgan, in his introduction of Scott for the radio broadcast of the 1957 NFL Championship Game, stated that Scott started broadcasting when he was only 17 years old.) Playing career A 6'9" Forward (basketball), forward/Center (basketball), center who played college basketball at the University of Portland, Scott was selected with the fourth pick of the 1961 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, and was a deadly shooter near the perimeter of the court. 	Ray Scott (Australian Rules Football) Raymond Cyril Scott (17 April 19275 January 2003) was a leading Australian rules football player and field umpire in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL). WANFL playing career Ray Scott began playing with the West Perth Football Club (the "Cardinals") in 1944 during the WANFL's under-age competition, where he played as a ruckman or centre half-back but was nonetheless viewed as extremely promising. Scott then spent two years in the Royal Australian Navy and rejoined the club for the 1947 season, during which he was shifted to full-forward in place of future champion defender Ray Schofield. He played 190 games between 1944 and 1959. Scott was a highly successful forward, kicking 910 goals during his WANFL career.
