Ray Holden
Ray Holden (born 3 September 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played for West Perth and Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Holden played his first game for West Perth in 1979 but wasn't a regular section until 1981. 1982 VFL Draft
The 1982 Victorian Football League (VFL) draft was the second annual national draft held by the VFL, the leading Australian rules football league. Held on 19 October 1982, all twelve VFL clubs participated in the draft, each having two picks, with the team finishing last in the 1982 VFL season having first choice, followed by the other eleven clubs in reverse finishing position order. The draft was limited to players aged sixteen and above in non-Victorian based competitions and tied players wishing to move to Victoria to the club that drafted them. West Perth Football Club
The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. West Perth competes in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW) and is the oldest existing Australian rules football club in Western Australia. Perth Football Club
The Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Demons, is an Australian rules football club based in Lathlain, Western Australia, currently playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Representing the south-east area of the Perth metropolitan region, the club currently trains and plays its home games at Lathlain Park (currently known, for sponsorship reasons, as Mineral Resources Park), having previously played at the WACA Ground between 1899 and 1958 and later in 1987 and 1988. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Dennis Cometti
Dennis John Cometti (born 26 March 1949) is an Australian retired sports commentator, player and coach of Australian rules football. In a career spanning 51 years, his smooth voice, dry humour and quick wit became his trademark. Until his retirement, he remained the only television broadcaster to have spanned the entire duration of the AFL national competition, serving the Seven Network, Nine Network and Broadcom. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2019 Australia Day Honours. Cometti retired as a sports commentator with his last game being the 2021 AFL Grand Final, which was called for Triple M in Perth, on 25 September 2021. Danny Hughes
Danny Hughes (born 4 December 1963) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A fullback, Hughes was a premiership player with Port Adelaide prior to transferring to Melbourne. He was Melbourne's best and fairest winner in 1985 and represented South Australia at interstate football and was awarded All Australian selection for his performance in the 1988 Adelaide Bicentennial Carnival. He returned to South Australia in 1991 and played in Adelaide's inaugural AFL season but retired at year's end. He continued to play with Port Adelaide in the SANFL until 1993.
