Ray Epps (basketball)
Raymond Edward Epps Jr. (born August 20, 1956) is an American former professional basketball player. A forward born in Amelia, Virginia, and from Norfolk State University, Epps was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the fifth round of the 1977 NBA draft. He left college early to play for the Warriors as a "hardship case." In the 1977–78 NBA season, Epps did not play due to his injury. In the 1978–79 NBA season, he played 13 games for the Warriors and scored 26 points. says "Raymond Edward Epps Jr." In December 1978, Epps left early and was subbed with Raymond Townsend. Afterward, Epps played for the Montana Sky of the Western Basketball Association in the league's first and only season. His tenure began in January 1979. James Ray Epps (born 1961 or 1962) is a former United States Marine and Oath Keepers chapter president who was one of the rioters at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. Following January 6, conspiracy theories were shared on Twitter and by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, accusing Epps of being an agent provocateur and linking his wife to Dominion Voting Systems. In July 2023, Epps started litigation against Fox News for amplifying these conspiracy theories. In September 2023, he was charged with and pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct for his participation in the attack, and was sentenced to a year of probation. The 2015 Sun Devils football team represented Arizona State University in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
