Ray Courtemanche, Jr
Ray Courtemanche Jr. (born February 14, 1970) is a Canadian businessman and stock car racing driver. A veteran of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, he raced in the series from 2011 to 2015. He also competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado for SS-Green Light Racing. Racing career Courtemanche began racing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2011, competing on a part-time basis. After another limited schedule in 2012, during which he won the series' Most Popular Driver Award, he moved to a full-time slate in 2013 and finished 12th in points. During the 2013 season, he suffered an upper-body injury in a wreck at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, leading to a brief hospitalisation. In 2014, his Danam Bonzaï Racing team partnered with Scott Steckly's 22 Racing. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport Park and Mosport International Raceway) is a multi-track motorsport venue located north of Bowmanville, in Ontario, Canada, east of Toronto. The Heart of America 200 is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race held at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. Since 2020, the race has been 134 laps and long. From 2001 to 2019, the race was one of a few on the Truck Series schedule to be 250 miles (Daytona, Talladega, Texas' 400km event). In 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic schedule changes, the Truck Series had three races at Kansas with the first two being a doubleheader in July after being postponed from May and the other one being held in the fall. Each of the three races was 200 miles instead of 250. In 2021, the track only had one race again but the race distance remained 200 miles. History The inaugural race was run on July 7, 2001, and was won by Ricky Hendrick. The Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 200 is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race that takes place at Martinsville Speedway in the spring. In 2020, as part of schedule realignment, the fall race became the only Truck Series race at the track as NASCAR decided to give the track one Xfinity Series race instead. This schedule change was done in a swap with Richmond Raceway, which previously had two Xfinity Series races and zero Truck Series races and would now have one Xfinity Series race and one Truck Series race (which replaced the spring race at Martinsville). In 2022, the fall Truck Series race at Martinsville was moved to the spring and there was no fall Truck Series race at the track for the first time since 2002.
