Ravenous (1999 Film)
''Ravenous'' is a 1999 horror Western cannibal film starring Guy Pearce, Robert Carlyle, Jeffrey Jones and David Arquette. The film, which is set in 1840s California, was directed by Antonia Bird and filmed in Europe. It was not a box office success and failed to recoup much of its $12 million budget. However, despite initial reception being mixed when first released, it has since garnered a reputation as a cult film. ''Ravenous'' had a troubled history. Issues over budget and shooting schedules were still ongoing when filming was about to start in Slovakia. After the original director Milcho Manchevski walked off the set three weeks into production, he was replaced by Bird at the suggestion of actor Robert Carlyle. Michael Nyman and Damon Albarn composed the film's score, which generated a significant amount of interest for its quirky and inventive use of loops, instruments and musical structure. Screenwriter Ted Griffin wrote a script that combined elements from the Donner Pa ...

Ravenous (God Dethroned Album)
God Dethroned is a Dutch extreme metal band from Beilen, originally formed in 1990. Biography God Dethroned was formed in 1990 by singer and guitar player Henri Sattler, with Hans Leegstra (guitar) and Ard de Weerd. Sattler and Leegstra had previously been in Dysentery; Leegstra, quickly after the band formed, left the music scene altogether. They recorded a demo, ''Christ Hunt'', in 1991, after which Marco Arends joined on bass. Their first album, ''The Christhunt'', was released on the German label Shark. Meanwhile, Arends left (to rejoin Altar) and was replaced by Marcel Beukeveld. ''The Christhunt'' did poorly; the label had refused to feature a dissected rat on the cover and did not promote the record at all. Dethroned went on hiatus the following year, in part because Sattler's anti-Christian sympathy was not shared by all, and Sattler formed a new group called Ministry of Terror. In 1996, after that band's 1994 album ''Fall of Life'' and a supporting European tour (with Im ...

Ravenous (soundtrack)
''Ravenous'' is the score for the film of the same name. It was written and performed by Damon Albarn and Michael Nyman (by agreement, Albarn credited first on the album and Nyman credited first on the film credits). The score was actually not a collaboration, according to Nyman: "Ravenous was a joint composition in the sense that Damon Albarn composed 60% of the tracks and I did the rest." It features Nyman's first writing for banjo since his 1981 self-titled album. The tracks known to be composed/arranged by Nyman include: *Hail Columbia & Noises Off (actually pre-existing arrangements) and Welcome To Fort Spencer. These were written for and performed by Foster's Social Orchestra, a group of non-musician artists Nyman assembled under the inspiration of the Portsmouth Sinfonia.Liner notes to Michael Nyman - ''Live'' *Cannibal Fantasy (on the ''Ravenous'' DVD commentary, Albarn attributes Cannibal Fantasy to Nyman). *Stranger At The Window (included in Michael Nyman's The ...

Chris Reifert
Chris Reifert (born February 23, 1968) is an American death metal musician, and one of the pioneers of the death/doom genre. Although his music is more death metal than doom metal, he is one of the first musicians that blended the two styles. He played drums on the Death debut album, ''Scream Bloody Gore''. Since he parted ways with Chuck Schuldiner in 1987 after Schuldiner moved back to Florida, Reifert decided to stay in the San Francisco Bay Area, and in 1987 he formed his own band, Autopsy. In this band, he played not only drums but handled the vocals as well. After several albums, Autopsy split up in 1995 and Reifert and bandmate Danny Coralles began playing in their side-project, Abscess, full-time. After Abscess dissolved in 2010, Autopsy reformed and is currently planning to tour and record new material. Chris Reifert is also known for his many side-projects, including the Ravenous, Doomed, Eat My Fuk, and Violation Wound. He has also performed guest vocals on Machet ...

Congregation Of The Damned
''Congregation of the Damned'' is the fifth studio album by American metalcore band Atreyu. It was released through Hollywood Records and Roadrunner Records on October 27, 2009. The album debuted at No. 18 on the ''Billboard'' 200, selling 26,000 copies in its first week of release. The album has sold 121,000 copies in the United States as of August 2015. Composition Influences, style and themes For ''Congregation of the Damned'', Atreyu expressed an interest in returning to their "heavy hardcore" roots, following 2007's ''Lead Sails Paper Anchor'', while also wanting to "move forward." Comparing the new album to ''Lead Sails'', drummer Brandon Saller stated that "there were parts of 'Atreyu' missing and that we needed back, so we've brought them back." He also went on to claim that the band had been "reflecting on how far we've come and where from. It's stepping forward to new territory but taking with us the best of where we've been." Similarly, lead singer Alex Varkatzas clai ...

Ravenous Records
Ravenous Records, a division of Ravenous Entertainment, was formed in 1998 by Jim Steinman and Steven Rinkoff. Rinkoff best explained the purpose of the label (and how it went wrong) in a May 2005 interview with BroadwayWorld.com, "Jim and I have a label called Ravenous Records where initially the idea was just to find great singers for Jim's songs, and as hard as that could be, we somehow got skewed into finding people that were writing their own songs, and then we became a label where we were putting out artists that had nothing to do with Jim's music." Nicki French was signed to the label in 2000, during which time she recorded two tracks " Lovers Again" (a cover of a Bonnie Tyler track) and "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" (Meat Loaf cover), both of which never got released commercially. Currently, the label is inactive, and is owned by Sony Music Entertainment. Roster * Hewitt Huntwork * Boyzone * Nicki French * The Dream Engine Discography Singles * Boyzone, "No Matter Wha ...

History In 2001, Paul McGann became involved with Big Finish Productions producing adventures as the Eighth Doctor, a role he originated in the 1996 TV movie '' Doctor Who'', as part of their ongoing '' Main Range''. However, in 2007, due to the popularity of several of these titles on BBC Radio 7 (now known as BBC Radio 4 Extra), the BBC partnered with Big Finish to produce a series called ''The Eighth Doctor Adventures'' for BBC Radio 7 beginning with '' Blood of the Daleks'', co-starring Sheridan Smith as the Doctor's latest companion Lucie Miller and featuring a guest appearance from a then fairly unknown Hayley Atwell. This range would go on for a further three seasons of stories, with Lucie initially departing ...
