Ravenous (God Dethroned Album)
God Dethroned is a Dutch extreme metal band from Beilen, originally formed in 1990. Biography God Dethroned was formed in 1990 by singer and guitar player Henri Sattler, with Hans Leegstra (guitar) and Ard de Weerd. Sattler and Leegstra had previously been in Dysentery; Leegstra, quickly after the band formed, left the music scene altogether. They recorded a demo, ''Christ Hunt'', in 1991, after which Marco Arends joined on bass. Their first album, ''The Christhunt'', was released on the German label Shark. Meanwhile, Arends left (to rejoin Altar) and was replaced by Marcel Beukeveld. ''The Christhunt'' did poorly; the label had refused to feature a dissected rat on the cover and did not promote the record at all. Dethroned went on hiatus the following year, in part because Sattler's anti-Christian sympathy was not shared by all, and Sattler formed a new group called Ministry of Terror. Beilen
Beilen is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 16 km south of Assen. The old Reformed church is the only remaining truly old building; a large fire destroyed a major part of Beilen in 1820. Beilen has a railway station - Beilen railway station. The biggest employers in Beilen are the former DOMO milk powder factory and the psychiatric hospital GGZ Drenthe. The village is also home to a large distribution centre for the Jumbo supermarket chain. Beilen is also visited by many tourists, as it is located between many forests and National Reserves. Each August the so-called "Wende-aovends" take place in Beilen, featuring activities for children in the shopping center and showcases by local artists at night. Their name is derived from the Ancient Babylonian deity, Marduk. Blackened death metal (also known as black death metal) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal that fuses elements of black metal and death metal. The genre emerged in early 1990s when black metal bands began incorporating elements of death metal and vice versa. The genre typically employs death growls, tremolo picking, blast beats, and Satanic lyrics and imagery. Bands of the genre typically employ corpse paint, which was adapted from black metal. 70000 Tons of Metal (officially stylized as 70000TONS OF METAL) is an annual heavy metal music festival that takes place on board a cruise ship. The event is a five-day festival, including one shore day at a select Caribbean destination. History The first 70000 Tons of Metal was held in 2011, and until 2014, 70000 Tons of Metal took place on board the cruise liner ''Majesty of the Seas''. In 2015, the festival moved to the cruise liner ''Liberty of the Seas'' and then to '' Independence of the Seas'' in 2016. From 2011 to 2014, the festival took place between Monday and Friday, and then from Thursday to Monday beginning in 2015. From 2011 to 2014, the cruise departed from PortMiami in Miami, Florida. Symphonic Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration.
