Raspberries (album)
''Raspberries'' is the debut album from the Raspberries, released in April 1972 (see 1972 in music). It was their second-highest charting LP, reaching #51 on the '' Billboard'' album chart, but spent more weeks on the chart than all of their other albums combined. The American and Australian versions of this LP carried a scratch and sniff sticker with a strong raspberry scent. It contained two charting singles, "Don't Want to Say Goodbye," which reached #86, and their biggest hit, " Go All the Way," which reached #5. This album was re-released on CD as part of the 'Power Pop Vol. 1,' also containing their second album ''Fresh''. Raspberries (band)
The Raspberries were an American pop rock band formed in 1970 from Cleveland, Ohio. They had a run of success in the early 1970s music scene with their pop rock sound, which AllMusic later described as featuring "exquisitely crafted melodies and achingly gorgeous harmonies." The members were known for their clean-cut public image, with short-hair and matching suits, which brought them teenybopper attention as well as scorn from some mainstream media outlets as " uncool". The group drew influence from the British Invasion era—especially The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies, and Small Faces—and its mod sensibility. James Alexander Bonfanti (born December 17, 1948 in Windber, Pennsylvania) is a rock music, rock drummer who is best known for having been a member of the band Raspberries (band), Raspberries. Career Bonfanti's music career began in 1965 when he saw The Beatles on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'', which eventually led him to join a band called "The Mods", later renamed The Choir (garage rock), The Choir. Their recording of "It’s Cold Outside" reached the national charts in 1967. In 1970, Bonfanti, Wally Bryson, Dave Smalley (pop musician), Dave Smalley and Eric Carmen formed Raspberries. The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts.
