Raquel Fortun
Raquel Barros del Rosario-Fortun is the first Filipina forensic pathologist practicing in the Philippines. She is a professor at the College of Medicine of the University of the Philippines Manila and the current chairperson of the Department of Pathology. Education Fortun took up primary and secondary education at the UP Integrated School before pursuing a B.S. in Psychology in 1979 as her pre-medical course at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Eventually, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine. Career Fortun learned about forensic pathology through one of her seniors at the University of Philippines Manila's Department of Pathology, and was offered to specialize in forensic pathology under Dr. Donald Ray of the King County Medical Examiner's office in Seattle, Washington in 1994. Dacer–Corbito Double Murder Case
The Dacer–Corbito double murder case is one of the unsolved murders occurred in the Philippines during the administration of Joseph Estrada. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., a former Philippine senator, was assassinated on Sunday, August 21, 1983, on the tarmac of Manila International Airport (now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor). Asian Spirit Flight 100 was a Let L-410 Turbolet that crashed into a mountainside between the municipalities of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, and Cabarroguis, Quirino, in the Philippines on December 7, 1999. The aircraft was en route to Cauayan in Isabela from Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. All fifteen passengers and two crew aboard the flight died in the incident.
