Rapatona F.C.
Rapatona Football Club, formerly known as Inspac Rapatona FC, CMSS Rapatona Tigers FC, Moresby Casino Hotel and currently referred to as PKA Rapatona FC for sponsorship reasons, is a Papua New Guinea football club, based in Port Moresby and founded in 1982. The club was one of the earliest teams that competed in the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, joining the league in its second season in 2007–08, and never failing to qualify for the championship playoffs in their four years of competition, reaching the Grand Final in the 2008–09 season. They also finished second in the Papua New Guinea National Club Championship on two occasions, as well as winning the regional Port Moresby Premier League twice, in 1989 and 2004. The club most recently took part in the 2017 Papua New Guinea National Premier League, having broken away from the Papua New Guinea Football Association in late 2016. Alwin Komolong
Alwin Komolong (born 2 November 1994) is a Papua New Guinean footballer who plays for Lae City of the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, and for the Papua New Guinea national football team. Alwin and his brother Felix have been called one of the strongest central defensive pairings in their region. Personal Komolong is of German and PNG parentage. He is the son of Birte and Miok Komolong. Dr. Komolong has served as the president of Madang FC and chairman of the PNG Football Supporters Club. Some of his grandparents, cousins, and other family live in Hütten, Schleswig-Holstein. Komolong lived in Germany with his family for a year and a half beginning at age 14. The 2009–10 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League season, known as the Telikom NSL Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the fourth edition of Papua New Guinea National Soccer League. The title was won by Hekari United, who won their fourth consecutive title thanks to a 5–0 victory over Morobe FC in the Grand Final. Hekari striker Kema Jack won his third Golden Boot trophy, while Emmanuel Simon of Besta PNG United won the award for Player of the Season. Gelle Hills United was a semi-professional Papua New Guinea soccer club founded in 2006, based in Central Province but playing their home games predominantly in Port Moresby. The club was one of the founding members of the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, finishing as runners-up in the opening two seasons of the competition. These remain their most successful seasons to date, having disappeared sometime after 2010.
