''Randy the Band'' is an album by Swedish punk rock band Randy, released in October 2005 by Ny Våg Records and Epitaph Records/Burning Heart Records. As of July 2020, it is Randy's latest album. The album produced one single, "Razorblade," for which the band recorded a music video. Critical reception In their review of the album, AllMusic called Randy "one of wedens most highly touted punk bands" and positively likened the band to Green Day in saying that both groups are "ferociously energetic." The review also complimented Randy for "maintaining a knife-edge balance between youthful energy and tightly played rock & roll." While AllMusic did not give the album a formal rating or distinguish any tracks as highlights or standouts, the review itself individually praised the tracks "Punk Rock High," "Rich Boy," "Teenage Tiger," "I Raise My Fist," and "Losing My Mind." Randy (band)
Randy is a Swedish punk rock band from Hortlax, Sweden, formed in 1992. They were first inspired by skate punk bands like NOFX and Propagandhi but after the release of '' The Rest Is Silence'' and the departure of their bass player Patrik Trydvall, they radically changed their musical style and adopted an older sound reminiscent of Thin Lizzy, The Misfits and Ramones, heavily leaning on a fusion of garage punk and pop to form their new sound. Their first album after the transition in style, '' You Can't Keep a Good Band Down'', earned praise from MaximumRockNRoll, which called it "the best melodic punk CD since Bad Religion's '' No Control''." After his departure, Patrik went on to contribute lead vocals in his now-disbanded punk rock group, Diefenbaker. Dez Cadena (born June 2, 1961) is an American punk rock singer and guitarist. He was the third vocalist and later rhythm guitarist for hardcore punk band Black Flag from 1980 to 1983. Cadena played guitar with Misfits from 2001 to 2015, initially joining the band alongside Doyle, Jerry Only and Robo for their 25th Anniversary Tour and has served as the band's longest tenured guitarist. Greg Ginn
Gregory Regis Ginn (born June 8, 1954) is an American guitarist, bassist, singer and songwriter, best known for being the leader, primary songwriter, and the only continuous member of the hardcore punk band Black Flag, which he founded and led from 1976 to 1986, and again in 2003. The band announced another reunion in 2013. Since the breakup of Black Flag, Ginn has recorded solo albums, and performed with such bands as October Faction, Gone, Confront James, Mojack, and others. Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of Mike Ness (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jonny Wickersham (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Brent Harding (bass, backing vocals), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), and David Kalish (keyboards). Starting as a hardcore punk band in the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Social Distortion went on a temporary hiatus in the mid-1980s, due to Ness's drug addiction and troubles with the law which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers that lasted for two years.
