Randy Ruiz
Randy Radames Ruiz (born October 19, 1977) is an American former professional baseball designated hitter and first baseman. He stands 6'1" and weighs 240 pounds. Born in The Bronx, New York (state), New York to parents from Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Santurce, Puerto Rico, he attended James Monroe High School (New York), James Monroe High School, and played baseball under coach Mike Turo. He then attended Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska, where he played college baseball, college level baseball. Ruiz was drafted in round 36 of the 1996 draft. In Minor League Baseball, he played in the Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies (twice), New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and San Francisco Giants organizations. A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The International League (IL) is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the United States. Along with the Pacific Coast League, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB). The league traces its roots to 1884, while the modern IL began in 1912. Following MLB's reorganization of the minor leagues in 2021, it operated as the Triple-A East for one season before switching back to its previous moniker in 2022. The International League Top MLB Prospect Award is an annual award given to the best rookie player in Minor League Baseball's International League based on their regular-season performance as voted on by league managers. Hitting Streak
In baseball, a hitting streak is the number of consecutive official games in which a player appears and gets at least one base hit. According to the Official Baseball Rules, such a streak is not necessarily ended when a player has at least 1 plate appearance and no hits. A streak shall not be terminated if all official plate appearances result in a base on balls, hit by pitch, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt.
