Randy Prescott
Randy Prescott is a retired American soccer midfielder who played professionally in the MISL I, Major Indoor Soccer League, NPSL I, National Professional Soccer League and Continental Indoor Soccer League. Prescott graduated from Santa Teresa High School in San Jose, California. He attended Fresno State University where he played soccer from 1982 to 1985. He is in the top five for career goals, assists and points. On June 2, 1986, the Chicago Sting selected Prescott in the third round of the MISL College Draft. He played eight games and was released at the end of the season. He had trials with the Los Angeles Lazers and San Diego Sockers (1978–1996), San Diego Sockers before signing with the Fort Wayne Flames of the American Indoor Soccer Association where he played from 1987 to 1989. Redondo Beach (Spanish for ''round'') is a coastal city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area. San Diego Sockers (1978–1996)
The San Diego Sockers were a association football, soccer and indoor soccer team based in San Diego, California. The team played in the indoor and outdoor editions of the North American Soccer League (1968–84), North American Soccer League (NASL) until 1984 as well as the original Major Indoor Soccer League (1978–1992), Major Indoor Soccer League and Continental Indoor Soccer League, CISL. The franchise folded in 1996 and was the last surviving NASL franchise. The Sockers are considered the most successful indoor soccer team. They made the playoffs in all but one of their 16 seasons of playing indoors. History The team began as the Baltimore Comets in 1974 but moved to San Diego as the San Diego Jaws in 1976. Chicago Sting (MISL) Players
The Chicago Sting (1974–1988) was an American professional soccer team representing Chicago. The Sting played in the North American Soccer League from 1975 to 1984 and in the Major Indoor Soccer League in the 1982–83 season and again from 1984 to 1988. They were North American Soccer League champions in 1981 and 1984, one of only two NASL teams (the New York Cosmos) to win the championship twice. The Sting were founded in 1974 by Lee Stern of Chicago and competed in the NASL for the first time in the 1975 season. A few years after founding the Sting, Stern brought Willy Roy on as head coach.
