Randy Christmas
Randall Norton Christmas (October 14, 1920 – July 27, 1969) was the Mayor of Miami from 1955 to 1957. He had previously served on the Miami City Commission from 1953 to 1955. In 1926 the Christmas family relocated to Miami. The sixth of seven siblings, Randall began working as a young boy delivering the Miami Herald. He attended Edison High School where he graduated in 1938. Christmas served with the US Marine Corps VMB443 in a B-25 bomber in the Pacific Theater during World War II where he met and became acquainted with George Smathers, later to become an influential Senator from the state of Florida. As a student at the University of Miami in 1948, he became a charter member of the Beta Delta chapter of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Abe Aronovitz
Abraham "Abe" Aronovitz (October 15, 1898 – July 11, 1960) was an American lawyer and politician who served one term as mayor of Miami, Florida, from 1953 until 1955. He had a seat on the City Commission until 1958. North Miami Beach (commonly referred to as NMB) is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. Originally named "Fulford-by-the-Sea" in 1926 after Captain William H. Coconut Grove, also known colloquially as The Grove, is the oldest continuously inhabited neighborhood of Miami in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The neighborhood is roughly bound by North Prospect Drive to the south, LeJeune Road to the west, South Dixie Highway (US 1) and Rickenbacker Causeway to the north, and Biscayne Bay to the east. Robert King High
Robert King High (April 9, 1924 – August 30, 1967) was an attorney and politician, a reform mayor of Miami, Florida, serving for over a decade from January 1957 until his death in August 1967. From eastern Tennessee, High moved to Florida after his service in World War II. He became active in the Democratic Party. In 1966, High was the Democratic Party nominee for governor of Florida, but he was defeated by Republican Claude Kirk in an upset election at a time when the Democratic Party generally still dominated state politics.
