Randy Boyd (politician)
Randy Phillip Boyd (born March 23, 1954) is a Republican politician who has served since 2012 as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives for the 19th District in Mantachie in northeastern Mississippi. Boyd graduated from Tremont High School in rural Tremont in Itawamba County, Mississippi and then attended Itawamba Community College in Fulton. He graduated from Mississippi State University at Starkville. For more than three decades, he has been engaged in the forestry industry and is a partner in LandTree LLC. He resides in Mantachie in Itawamba County. In 2018 Boyd was among several representatives who were in opposition to introducing a state lottery in Mississippi. He is a member of the state's task force on education. Fulton is a city in and the county seat of Itawamba County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 3,961 at the 2010 census. The city is part of the Tupelo Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Fulton was established in 1837 as a county seat for the newly created Itawamba County. It is named for Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat. Itawamba Community College Alumni
Levi Colbert (1759–1834), also known as ''Itawamba'' in Chickasaw, was a leader and chief of the Chickasaw nation. Colbert was called ''Itte-wamba Mingo'', meaning ''bench chief''. He and his brother George Colbert were prominent interpreters and negotiators with United States negotiators in the early decades of the 19th century. They were appointed by President Andrew Jackson's administration to gain cession of their lands and arrange for removal of their people to Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River. They were under considerable pressure from the Mississippi state government, white interlopers in their area, and the federal government to cede their lands. Itawamba Community College
Itawamba Community College is a public community college with its main campus in Fulton, Mississippi. Additional campuses are in Belden and Tupelo. History Itawamba Community College began as an extension of Itawamba County Agricultural High School, one of the largest high schools in Mississippi, which was organized in 1920. In 1941, the trustees extended the curriculum to provide for two years of college work. However, World War II postponed the plans for buildings and equipment to pursue college status. In March 1948, the boards of supervisors and school boards of Itawamba, Lee and Monroe counties unanimously and harmoniously agreed to support Itawamba Junior College. A full freshman college curriculum was offered for the first time during the 1948-49 session, and sophomore work, during 1949-50. Russellville, Alabama
Russellville is a city in Franklin County in the U.S. state of Alabama. At the 2020 census, the population of the city was 10,855, up from 9,830 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of Franklin County. History After the War of 1812, the U.S. government appropriated money to improve a route from Nashville to New Orleans. It was named Jackson's Military Road after Andrew Jackson, and it passed through what became Russellville.
