Randhir (actor)
Randhir was an Indian character actor in Hindi and Punjabi films who was active from the 1940s to the 1980s. He appeared in over 172 films. Originally, he played side heroes or the friend of the hero. On a few occasions, he even played the hero. One of his most famous hero's friend roles was in ''Dil Deke Dekho'' (1959). The 1960s was a period of transition. Due to his age and displacement from hero's friend roles by comedians, Randhir began to experiment with character roles. He had done such roles in the 1950s and 1940s as well. In the mid-1960s, he frequently played Maharajas in costume films. Randhir began adopting the moneylender 'lala' role around the end of the 1960s. His role in ''Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi'' (1967) may be one of his earliest in this form, but it was a rough exhibition of what was to come. Randhir Singh Gentle
Randhir Singh Gentle (September 22, 1922 – September 25, 1981) was an Indian field hockey player and coach. He was a part of the Indian team that won three consecutive gold medals in the Summer Olympics, from 1948 to 1956. Gentle is one among only seven Indians to have won three gold medals at the Games. Career Gentle played for India at three Olympic Games, in London in 1948, in Helsinki in 1952 and in Melbourne in 1956. He captained the Indian team at the Melbourne Olympics, following the injury of captain Balbir Singh Sr. in the first game of the league phase against Afghanistan. Gentle finished the tournament scoring six goals, including the winning goal against Pakistan in the final that Indian won 1–0. In the 38th minute, he converted a short corner to goal. The NJSA Government College or Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Government College, also known as the Randhir College, is a college situated in Kapurthala, in Punjab. Established in 1856 by Maharaja Randir Singh in Kapurthala State as Sanskrit vidyalya, it has many historical buildings used for public services such as district courts, education, and health services. Randhir Sud
Randhir Sud, an Indian gastroenterologist and the Chairman of the Medanta Institute of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences, is known to be one of the pioneers of Gastro Intestinal oncology in India. He is a former co-chairman of the department of gastroenterology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Sud graduated in medicine (MBBS) from the Government Medical College, Amritsar in 1977 and started his career as a junior resident doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi in 1979. While working, he continued his studies at AIIMS to secure an MD in 1981 and followed it up with a DM in gastroenterology in 1983. He worked at AIIMS till 1985 and moved to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, where he worked for 25 years till his move to Medanta in 2010. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh ji (1878–1961) was a Sikh leader who started the Gurdwara Sudhaar Movement, and founded the Akhand Kirtani Jatha. Life Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh ji was born as Basant Singh in Narangwal, Ludhiana district, Punjab on July 7, 1878 in a Sikh Jat family. His father Natha Singh worked as a District Inspector of Schools and as a Judge in the High Court of the State of Nabha. He completed his schooling in Nabha and higher education from Government and Foreman Christian Colleges at Lahore. Singh wrote various books on Sikh theology, philosophy, and the Sikh way of life. He was charged in 1914 with waging war against the British Crown and had to undergo life-imprisonment from 1914 to 1931. Singh is one of India's most influential sports administrators and is noted for his wide-ranging international connections. He has held many roles in his sports administration career.
