Rand Chappell
Rand Chappell (born April 4, 1963) is an American college basketball coach. He is the head coach at Johnson County Community College. Chappell has marked a career head coaching record of 402-213, led six teams to the NCAA Division II National Tournaments, and won more than 20 games in each season for 12 consecutive years. Early career Chappell played for Charlie Spoonhour at Southwest Missouri State University and began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Mississippi and Missouri State University. Chappell spent three seasons (1989–1993) as an assistant coach at Southwest Baptist University under head coach Jerry Kirksey where he helped guide the 1990–91 team to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. Chappell began his head coaching career in 1993 when he was hired as head coach at Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas. Johnson County Community College
Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is a public community college in Overland Park, Kansas, which is in Johnson County. History In 1963, Johnson County Commissioners, recognizing the emerging community college movement and seeking to accommodate the rapidly growing population of Johnson County, Kansas, formed a committee to examine the feasibility of forming such an institution in Johnson County. The college was formally established following a successful county-wide election held in March 1967. The existing campus was made possible in 1969 after Johnson County voters approved $12.9 million in bonds to purchase 200 acres of land in Overland Park. Construction began in 1970, and classes and operations were moved to the new campus in the fall of 1972. National Association Of Basketball Coaches
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, is an American organization of men's college basketball coaches. It was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, head men's basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Formation of the NABC began when Joint Basketball Rules Committee, then the central governing authority of the game, announced without notice that it had adopted a change in the rules which virtually eliminated dribbling. Allen, a student of basketball founder James Naismith, organized a nationwide protest which ultimately resulted in the dribble remaining part of the game. In 1939, the NABC held the first national basketball tournament in Evanston, Illinois at the Northwestern Fieldhouse. Oregon defeated Ohio State for the first tournament championship.
