Ramón Sánchez
Ramón Alfredo Sánchez Paredes (born May 25, 1982 in San Juan Opico) is a Salvadoran football player. He was banned for life in 2013, for match fixing while playing for the El Salvador national football team. Career Club Sánchez has played professionally with Juventud Independiente, Arcense, San Salvador, Chalatenango and Alianza in the first division in El Salvador. He scored three goals in the 2009 season for Alianza, which was good for second most on the team. In total he has played 227 games in the Salvadoran first division and scored 19 goals. Sánchez joined the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer in 2009, and scored two goals in 10 appearances with the team in his debut year. He was later released from the team on June 29, 2010. In late July 2010, Sánchez signed a one-year contract with Águila, after having spent some time with the San Jose Earthquakes of the Major League Soccer. Opico
Opico (or San Juan Opico) is a municipality in the La Libertad department of El Salvador. It is located 42 kilometers from San Salvador, capital of the republic. The municipality has an area of 218 km² and a population of 74,280 inhabitants; according to the 2007 census it is ranked No. 13 in population. 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the seventh edition of the Gold Cup, the association football championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). For the first time since 1993, the tournament was held in more than one country, with games played in both United States and Mexico. The games were played in Mexico City, Miami, and for the first time in a northern U.S. city, Foxborough. The FIFA World Cup qualification is a competitive match that a national association football team takes in order to qualify for one of the available berths at the final tournament of the (men's) FIFA World Cup.
