Ramón Pérez De Ayala
Ramón Pérez de Ayala y Fernández del Portal (9 August 1880, in Oviedo – 5 August 1962, in Madrid) was a Spanish writer. He was the Spanish ambassador to England in London (1931-1936) and voluntarily exiled himself to Argentina via France because of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Background Pérez de Ayala was educated at Jesuit schools, the experience of which he satirized in the novel ''A.M.D.G.'' (1910). The novelist Leopoldo Alas was among his professors, and Alas's "intellectual novel," focused on ideas and philosophy, would influence Pérez de Ayala's own fiction. There is some debate regarding to which generation of Spanish writers Pérez de Ayala belongs. His early realistic novels reveal ties with the Generation of 98. Ramon Perez Blackburn
The Blackburn Twins were an American duo of entertainers (dancer-singer-actor) who appeared on stage, film and television in the mid-20th century. The twin brothers, Ramon Perez and Royce Perez, later professionally known as the Blackburn Twins, were born January 8, 1925 in Blue Point, New York. At the age of seven they performed on stage in the Jerome Kern musical '' Music in the Air'' which ran in 1932-33. Also in 1932, they made their film debut in ''Her First Affaire'', with Ida Lupino. As child actors, the boys appeared in the Broadway plays ''200 Were Chosen'' (1936) and ''As You Like It'' (1937). Separately, Royce appeared in ''Everywhere I Roam'' (1938-39) and Ramon in ''Stop-Over'' (1938). As a duo the pair danced in Olsen and Johnson's ''Sons o' Fun'' (1941-43). Ramón Osvaldo Pérez Araya (born 28 June 1963) is a Chilean former footballer who played as a forward for clubs in Chile and Switzerland. Club career A product of Unión Española youth system, Pérez also played for Palestino, Cobreloa, with whom he won the league title in 1992, Deportes Concepción and Deportes Linares in his homeland. Abroad, he played in Switzerland for both AC Bellinzona and FC Baden (loan). In FC Baden, he coincided with his compatriots Eduardo Soto and Claudio Álvarez. Ramon A. Perez, Jr. ( es, Ramón; born November 20, 1971) is a Dominican-American politician and businessman who serves as a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives from the 13th district. Elected in 2016, he assumed office in 2017 and left office on January 1, 2019 after his re-election defeat. He was re-elected to the same seat in 2020. Early life Perez was raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Career Perez owned New England Taxi and worked as a founding member of the Taxi Driver Union in Providence, Rhode Island.
