Ralph E. Davis Jr. (September 7, 1938 – May 30, 2021) was an American professional basketball player who played two seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was a starter on two NCAA Final Four teams at the University of Cincinnati. Early life Davis was born in Vanceburg, Kentucky, the son of Ralph E. Davis Sr., a self-employed businessman, and Anna Louis (Plummer) Davis. He played basketball at Lewis County High School in Vanceburg. He scored 1,810 points for the Lions and averaged 26.4 points and 18 rebounds per game as a senior. He was an all-district selection for three years. As a senior in 1956 he was named second team all-state by Louisville ''Courier-Journal'' as he led the Lions to the Eastern Kentucky Conference title. He was also an honor student. Vanceburg, Kentucky
Vanceburg is a home rule-class city in Lewis County, Kentucky, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 1,518 at the 2010 census and estimated in 2018 to be 1,395. It is the county seat of Lewis County. Vanceburg is part of the Maysville Micropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Vanceburg is located in northern Lewis County at (38.595802, -83.319725), on the south bank of the Ohio River. Kentucky Route 9/ 10, the AA Highway, runs through the southern part of the city, leading west to Tollesboro. To the east KY 10 and the Greenup spur of the AA Highway lead east to the Ohio River at the Jesse Stuart Memorial Bridge near Lloyd, while KY 9 and the Grayson spur of the AA Highway lead southeast to Interstate 64 at Grayson. Carl Bouldin
Carl Edward Bouldin (born September 17, 1939) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who also played college baseball and college basketball for the University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of the NCAA Championship-winning 1960–61 Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team. He played in an NCAA national championship game and in Major League Baseball the same year. Bouldin was listed as and ; in baseball, he was a switch hitter who threw right-handed. Early life Bouldin was born in Germantown, Kentucky and grew up in Norwood, Ohio in Greater Cincinnati.
