Rallye OiLibya Du Maroc
The Rallye du Maroc is a rally-raid which is disputed each year in Morocco from 2000. The event is part of both the World Rally-Raid Championship co-sanctioned by the FIA and FIM, after previously being overseen separately by the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies and FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship. In 2017, the organization of the Rallye du Maroc was officially ceded to the ODC company, represented by the rally driver David Castera, sports director of the Dakar for 10 editions, who is in charge of the rallye since the 2018 edition. Rally Raid
Rally raid, also known as cross-country rallying, is a form of long distance off-road racing that takes place over several days. The length of the event can be as short as 2–3 days for a cross-country baja to as long as 15 days with marathon rallies like the Dakar Rally; with other cross-country rally events lasting 4–5 days. With skill in navigation being key, the driving skill and endurance of riders, drivers, co-drivers, and machines are put to the test. The total distance covered can be anywhere between 600 km to over 5,000 km with terrain ranging from sandy dunes, forest roads, mountain roads, and dry river beds; among others. The most well known rally raid is the Dakar Rally; a marathon rally which can last anywhere from 10 to 15 days. Other prominent marathon rallies include the Africa Eco Race and Silk Way Rally. Stéphane Peterhansel (born 6 August 1965 in Échenoz-la-Méline, Haute-Saône) is a rally racing, rally driver from France. He holds the record for wins at the Dakar Rally, with 14 victories. In the 2018 season he was one of the official drivers of the Team Peugeot Total. Biography Peterhansel made his Dakar Rally, Paris to Dakar Rally debut in 1988 in the motorcycle category for Yamaha Motor Company, Yamaha, later winning the event in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1997, and 1998. He switched to the car category for 1999, joining the works Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsubishi in 2003. Ruben Faria (born 30 July 1974 in Olhão) is a Portuguese rally-raid and enduro motorcycle rider, best known for his participation in the Dakar Rally in which he finished as runner-up in 2013. Career Faria made his Dakar Rally debut in 2006, winning only his second ever stage, set in the Portuguese city of Portimao, riding a KTM motorcycle. Marc Coma i Camps (born 7 October 1976) is a Spanish rally racing motorcycle rider. He won the Dakar Rally in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014, and 2015 riding a KTM motorcycle, and is also a six-time winner of the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship. In 1984 he turned professional as co-pilot of François Chatriot, and finished second in the French Rally Championship, championship that he would win in 1988, 1989 and 1990. Bruno Saby (born 23 February 1949 in Grenoble) is a Rallying, rally driver from France. In 1981, Saby became French Rally Champion in a Renault 5 Turbo. He drove for the works teams of Renault, Peugeot, Volkswagen and Lancia during his career in the World Rally Championship.
